my new mp3 player, ..soo confuzed Options

I just got an mp3 player for Christmas and I really don't understand how to get the songs from my computer on to the mp3 player. And I'm not sure if this helps but I have Windows XP. I read the instrunctions and everything.. and my dad tried... He couldn't get it either, which is very surprising.. Soo yeah help is appreciated

Umm yeah it's USB whatever that means.. it came with a disc that said "MP3/WMA DRIVER for Windows 98 SE" and on the bottom it says UNIVERSAL USB SERIAL BUS"... I have no clue what the heck that is

go to my computer, and go to drive E: or F:, just whichever wasn't there before.

then, just drag and drop the music you want onto it.

` this should work, if your MP3 player is what i think it is.

don't unplug it without clicking on the 'safely remove hardware" icon in the system tray (part with the clock, bottom right of screen)

and click stop.

put in the cd, and plug your mp3 player into the usb outlet on your computer. Then do what acid said.

I tried dragging them.. from Kazaa.. It didn't work.. Is it the program I'm dragging it from or am I just not doing it right..?

quit your kazaa. go to 'start' then 'my computer' then click on the icon (E Drive, or F, G, etc.) that isn't normally there. Then go to 'my computer' in another window, go to 'C Drive or w.e your hard drive is' and go to your music folder. Drag the files to your mp3 player drive.

don't drag from kazza.

drag from the folder where you have some songs (not kazza folder)

try that.

and, also, please tell us:

manufacturer of your MP3 player
the model number of it ( should be on the box somewhere)
anything you know about it (size, connectors, etc. )

Umm and on the bottom ish it says AUDIOVOX SMP3-330-128S

Also, on the bottom right corner on the back of the manual it says "Printed in China... 811-SMP391-030"

hmm...

i guess you'll have to do with kazza music for now... it might be that that's not working tho.

can you open the folder that your kazza music is in?

and open My computer

ok it says 'use as a jumpdrive'

that means all you have to do is plug your mp3 player to the computer using a USB port. <-- do this first (connect player with computer)

You can access your Kazaa shared folder w/o opening Kazaa. It may be in your "My documents" folder, the name being "My Shared Folder" or something like that. <---- #2 (Find your music files w/o opening kazaa)

open your USB drive by going to "my computer" and opening up the drive that says something you don't recognize, usually the last drive listed. <--- #3 (find your mp3 player's USB drive)

Now just drag and drop from your music folder into the mp3 player window. <---#4 (drag and drop from the music folder to the mp3 player folder)

Now go to your taskbar at the bottom right of your screen and click on the green arrow that will say "Safely remove hardware". safely disconnect your hardware <--- #5 (disconnect your mp3 player and PC safely)

Okay guys I'm getting better, haha. I tried it with one of my dads weirdo songs that he has on my computer.. It was from Windows Media Player.. Soo now I know that that works.. Is there any way that I can make songs from Kazaa switch to Windows Media Player? Btw, thnx guys for ur help

you need to locate your files on your hardrive, without opening kazza.

two ways to do this,

1. look around if you have a good idea where
2. go to Start, then search, then type in the name of a song you have. also, change it to search for music.

either way should get you to the folder where the actually files are.

and drag them from there.
