ok before you guys yell "STOP TALKING ABOUT YOURSELF YOU EGOCENTRIC B****"
I am not really going to brag about oh how many terrific gifts i received... because i didn't. so basically, this is another of my complaint. all right, so yesterday was my birthday, and in the morning, my mom made me clean out everything for about 2 hours, and then they remembered my birthday so my mom like "ok so you want to go to the mall, let's go" and then dad was on the computer and we lost another 2 hours... I mean, i don't want to go to the mall with them anyways since everytime i go it's like a disaster. So blah blah blah, off we went at 3 o'clock. and yes, it was very boring, none of us said a word for the next 2 hours. and whenever i was trying to get a peek of Seventeen, my dad would be like "hands off, that's going to poison your mind." and whenever i was in Claire's or whatever store I like, my dad would go "Stop looking at these stuff." So yeah, you do the math.. After we left, we just basically went grocery shopping and to the stores my parents go every ordinary weekends... ok so it started when we were at Target, first, i spotted a pair of cool sunglasses, well, my parents wouldn't buy it for me because it was expensive (it was 20$), so i was like ok since i don't want to act like a spoiled brat. So then since i was planning on coloring my hair for a long time, i was at the hair section right?? Well so it went down hill from there. My mom told my dad that i want to color my hair, and then in the car (I was still quiet)... THEY started to talk, and the more they talked the more intense the conversation got.. and my dad spent the next 30 minutes of the car ride telling me how shallow i am and how bad my handwriting is, and how i am going to die like a worthless dog if i keep doing it, and how i am chinese and i shouldn't learn from other people's bad influences (like coloring my hair, and shopping), and then they just kept on ranting and i don't know how much but i shed about 30 drops of tears like a loser... then i got home they were still yelling and screaming, it was almost like they had forgot that yesterday was my birthday, well it wouldn't make a difference. So i kept crying silently like a loser and i ....... well.. cut my self i mean, i can't really hate my parents, and i am really overwhelmed by all the pressure and just everything, and all i can hate is myself. i am really sensitive to pain and i thought about the consequences, but still, i slashed my arm and i engraved "12/18/04---15" on my arm, it stinged for the whole night. then i went to bed at about 8:50 I don't know, well just leave some comments. I don't know what to think now. I am all too shocked by what had happened... i don't know, maybe i shouldn't be. |

:T I really don't know what to say. But, wow. What are you going to do or say when your parents see the engraving?

Doesn't it take a couple of weeks to heal? What about your friends? And you are a cheerleader, so what will the rest of the squad say when they see the scars?
I've never had a situation this bad before, but I can imagine it somewhat. I honestly hope things start looking up for you. |

But a wire fence can't inprint numbers into your arm...
I think telling the truth is better. |

QUOTE(kriziaandrei2 @ Dec 19 2004, 12:46 PM) go to the Mall with your friends or you NOT wil your parents.... and forget about them for awile.... but you have to talk to them!!!! or this is going to be your worst birthday. thanks. i can't really go to the mall with my friends, first of all, most of them are out of town, and secondly, my parents probably wont' let me go after what happened yesterday and they think that i will waste money and time. since i am supposed to be studying for the SATs during winter break. and i am supposedly to think about my actions. i can't really forget about them now can i? and well, i don't know what to talk to them about, it'll just be more intense... i probably won't talk to them for the rest of the winter break, and i still havne't told them about my grades... and i can't imagine... if i did, i would've probably died yesterday. |

QUOTE(kriziaandrei2 @ Dec 19 2004, 12:59 PM) well you can "ACCIDENTALLY" show them this page... make them read it.... you pour out your feelings... they should now... like i said no one should be treated like that during their birthday! there's a Law about it... somewhere... well, i don't think i will just "accidentally" show them this page, i mean, i really can't talk to anyone about it now can I? well my 13th birthday was a nightmare too but not like this, but well i'm not going into that.. yeah now i just feel.. i don't know, i really don't know what to think or what to do, i just feel broken... and i couldn't stop thinking about all the pressure around me, my parents moved here and they truly sacrificed a LOT for me so i can get a good education and get into a good college, and they tells me daily that if i don't they will be ashamed, because all of their friends/colleges knows and ... i am just in so much pressure, they think that i am the most egocentric person, but i know how they feel and i do work hard toward their goals, and i try to be perfect, but sometimes i just can't, no one can. and well, my parents just refuse to believe a lot of stuff that happens in my life and blame it back on me. |

Aww, I can't believe they forgot your birthday. Well, you just have to think positive. Tell your friends the truth if they see it. I can't help you that much because I've never been in that sort of situation. Happy Belated Birthday.

I mean, at least they made the effort of accompanying me to the mall. I don't really blame them, i blame myself. I can't really think positive right now, and well, telling my friends.. that's very risky, who knows if they'll just ditch me after i tell them? I mean, i really don't have a lot of trustworthy friends if you know what i mean. |

Your parents are messed up. It's not like coloring your hair is going to change your whole personality and make you not want to go to school anymore. Chinese parents. T_T Mine are the same, but I yell back. Oyy. T_T I'm not helping much, but yeah...
Ignore them for now. Just turn up the music real loud or something. I would expect your parents to understand when you started crying... *hugs* Don't cry. |

Talk to your parents about it. You have a right to color your hair. It shouldn't be their decision. And it is very rude of them to talk so badly about you on your birthday. If they see the cut, tell them why you did it and why you felt that way. If they love you, they should be caring enough to understand. I hope you feel better.

that sucks. how could parents neglect your birthday. they should care and like greet you and stuff and make you happy. gawd, that's the saddest thing. i think you should just forget things for a while. fill your mind with happy thoughts? or whatever. anything but that. or maybe your parents were just stressed that day. yeah, i cut just before my birthday (november) and there's still a scar. i'm worried of how it'll go away.
