I got mine back today. I made a 225, but I still didn't qualify for national merit thing, because you have to be in 11th grade and I'm in 10th. tongue.gif

i got mine on monday, i did horrible (200). blehhhh i did so much worse than last year... eh i wish i had made national merit, but oh well.

im not taking it this year but last year (7th grade) i got a 990...wait. is psat the same as sat? cuz i took the sat. i took the psat before to though (if its not the same) but my mother never told me my score

No, the PSAT is not the same as the SAT.

The highest score on the PSAT is 240(three sections worth 80 points each).

The full score currently is 1600 but it is going to be moved to 2400. And 220 is good cuz thatz 2200 actually you always add a zero to the three digit number.. And I got mine back.. pinch.gif eh i qualify for a scholarship but not national merit cuz im in 10th.

no, that's how you do it...

240 max score PSAT: 2400 max score SAT

take your score, add a zero, and that's your 'sat' score.

at this point, unless they plan to mail them home, i wont get mine until well into january

oh, and people who say they got 1000something arent necessarily talking about the SATs. last year, we all immediately calculated our SAT scores, and thus no one had any idea what the actual PSAT score was

We have the same scores in math and writing, but I made 69 in Critical Reading. I suck at that kind of stuff.

Of course it's not required. It's a practice SAT. Everyone should take it at least once to test his/her skills.

i got mine and i'm so frekaing proud. in reading i got 94th percentile (60pts), math 91st (60pts), and writing 97th(67pts). oh i'm only in 8th grade, btw. overall i think i got 91st percentile (187pts). that makes me top in my middle school overall and best in writing too. if anyone thinks i'm bullshitting i'll scan it and post it up here...

haha, i just realized everyone is talking about how many points you got instead of the percentile. everyone at our school says the percentile. that's why i said "if anyone thinks i'm bullshitting..." because if those were the PERCENTILES i would've kicked all your butts, tongue.gif.

someone in my sister's class (junior) got something like 260, which sounded extremely good considering you only need 200 to qualify for national merit (or at least that's what i've been told).

only 200 for you? geeze. well, it depends on the state. its 220 for virginia.

it's insane how 7th and 8th graders are taking the psats and sats for practice. i wish i lived a couple of years ago when people weren't so obsessed with getting into good colleges. people are taking this test way too seriously, it's not going to rule how you live your life after high school. that said, i need to go study.

The SAT is definately a good 50% determing factor for our lives pretty much., unless if you're uber athletic or know you people. the PSATs, well... I decided to take them the day before the registration form was due rolleyes.gif obviously, by asian standards, I failed laugh.gif 1860 sad.gif

then you just deduct your writing skills part for your 1600 scale score... give or take 100 pts (cuz psat isn't exactly the sat )

we got ours today finally. i did better than last year (which isnt hard, actually) but still not well. im in the 96th percentile for writing skills, but im not very familiar with SAT2 and have no clue to figue them into SAT format.

56 on critical reading
54 on math (because i suck ass at it)
67 on writing skills

yeah. thats a 1100 in SAT format. f**k.

and actually for those graduating in 06, like me, there is the NEW SAT which the 06 grads will be the first to take, which is out of 2400 so instead of doing what others said up there^ just add a zero to each of your scores so it would be 520, 600, and 520 if you were looking at mine. (which means i did poorly because it is only a 1640) because the new SAT's now have a writing skills part where you write essays because they took out the analogies. but it sucks that they changed it though because i took the sat's in 8th grade and did decent on it (1250) which was a 78% and now i got a 68% =(
