Preppy White Shows?, (no offense) what do you think? |

Do any of you watch the O.C, One Tree Hill, or Laguna Beach? People at my school refer these shows to "preppy shows that only white people watch." As for myself I don`t think that. I love those shows to death!

In my school, those are considered 'Prep shows'. I myself do not watch them, 'cause they're pretty boring in my opinion. Basically they're teen Soap Operas

its because they are targetted to the white youth ....
not trying to be insulting .... but if you watch that show ... then you're white-washed. I watch the show occasionally ... and I'm not afraid to say that I'm white washed don't you find it funny that on the show O.C. that there are absolutely no people of other races? |

i dont think they're racist, maybe they call em white ppl shows cuz mostly white ppl watch em or ppl who hang around white ppl. and those shows do mostly show jus like rich spoiled white kids so maybe thas y they call em white ppl shows. i hate those shows but i do know a lot of white ppl who watch em. i think cuz it kinda relates to them. iono i really don't care

they are preppy shows, and i agree they are targeted at white youth. oh sure some have the token black or asian, but the main audience for these shows is preppy impressionable white girls.
i've watched them a couple times before but they don't tickle my fancy. |

I don't watch them, but they're probably called "preppy white shows" because it's all about WHITE people and their teenage drama and their problems with guys and all the preppy people watch it. I know a lot of "preppy" people who watch the O.C., One tree hill.. all those stuff.
I prefer not to watch them because my friend (whom is white) told me to watch one tree hill, and I found it to be sort of boring. |

i used to watch the OC when it first came out... and now i dont watch tv much. they're juss tv shows anyways... and i never refered to them as preppy white shows either.

i watch the oc and i think it's pretty good
 but yah the kids at my school call them preppy white shows all the time. They do that cuz all they SEE are white ppl on those shows looking pretty. But i think the shows are pretty good, but around bowie you would be shot if you admitted you like them

most of those shows are so stupid. the OC is real crappy. I saw one episode..just plain stupid. I saw Laguna Beach, stupid..OMG the guy is gunna fight with a migit..what war..
I only say Real World: San Diego cause they made the black guy, Jaquese, look smart damn and he was hot. those other white shows, Rich Girls......im not even gunna start on that crap. just to let you know, i saw like one episode of each so dont say *oh u didnt watch it, dont hate it!* cause yes i saw it and it sucks.. |

It all started with stereotypes. I mean, why is the 'preppy' thing even coming up?
In Malaysia, we had the first seasons of both OTH and The OC. Laguna Beach was never aired. Most people who are 13 and above watch them, and we don't care about the white subject. They're just TV shows. |
