A lot of people at my school have livestrong braceletsfrom the beginning of the school year and a lot of people have those support our troops magnets. Now they have the breast cancer one for a bracelet and a magnet. What troubles me is that it seems more of a FAD than a statement. Have you guys noticed this?

Hm, everyone has them now... and the poeple who don't have them want to get one. Now, I don't have one, but it supports like, cancer and stuff.

And yellow symbolizes something, i guess.

Yeah, it has turned into a fad. I agree... but at least this one doesn't require people to spend $50 and have it all go into some snooty billionaire's pocket.

This is actually a good fad. If ever I've heard of one. The money is going to charity and people are filled with good intentions when they buy them. PROPS! <333

w00t

i have a breast cancer one, it's PINK

and to be honest, noone around me except supporters have one.
and they all show up at the meetings and all that.
i don't think it's a FAD.
I just think they want to support them, which was the function of the bracelets in the first place.

$$$$$$$ to support them.

I don't think it matters if it's a fad or not. The fact is the money is going to cancer research. How do we not know this is Lance Armstrong's genius to make Livestrong bands that were sublimilaly pushed to be a fashion for teens?

in my opinion, i think that those "livestrong" bracelet's is a nice way to support my ppl knowing that my gramps himself is living with cancer. and if you ppl think that the bracelets are irritating, then you can all go to hell.

I know what you mean!! my friends always say "i want one because its soooo cute". pinch.gif but there are these ones that is called "my soldier". but to get it you have to sign up and write emails to soldiers in Iraq and such. I would sign up but i dont want my rents to know that Im writing to a soldier. They would think.. i don't know but it cant be good.

P.S. Its not like they don't appreciate the soldiers, they jsut dont like the idea of me sending mail to soldiers. DONT ASK. lol

i have one.....it was a pink one for breast cancer. i don't wear it for the fad, though. anyways, isn't it GOOD that it's a fad? it just makes more people want it, and then they start buying it.

Well, it's going towards a good cause. I'm glad it's a fad. For the yellow LIVESTRONG bracelets, 77 cents out of every dollar is spent on cancer research. That really adds up.

well, some people just wear them because they think it looks cool & stuff, and other people wear them for the cause. i have the breast cancer one, and i wear it not because its becoming a fad, but because of the cause. and actually, i think im the only person in my grade that even wears the breast cancer ones other than me. everyone wears the livestrong ones.....
