This is a very big step for me. That's why I'm making a big entry about it, because it might help you too. ( I think...)

I've gone far from the depression state. Thanks to Sweetbox/Jade. This one song that its really cool and well, it gave the message that say: Life is cool. Because it is, right? Don't jump to conclusions yet. Sure there's all this crazy stuff is like taking part of YOUR life but not mine. Ever since I heard this one song she sang, its been upward from me. It gave me a message. You know when people say, "I hate my life"? Its pretty sad that they are pretty hard on themselves when there are many people who are in worser situations than many of you who are in depression states. Like why waste greiving over something you can't have when you can spend that greiving time over at the soup kitchen and help many people? And why did I waste the beginning of my year being in agony over something that is so stupid? I let jealousy take over me and that's what I get? Okay.. let's make it clearer. This is taken from the Sweetbox offical site. I want you to read what they had to say about the song:

".....is about looking at your life
from someone else's perspective.
Its easier to be negatative sometimes than it
is to be postive. The old saying "it could
be worse" is never really comforting
when somebody's upset, but it does
have a lot of forgotten truth to it. There
is always someone out in the world that wouldn't
mind trading places with you (yes "You"). You know
what they say The grass is always greener on the
other side. And when you think about it your side always looks greener to someone else..."

Think about it: There are people who don't have food on their table because they can't afford it. There are people who don't have roofs over their heads because of fires and debts. There are many orphans because of fires and hatred in the world. And you say you hate your life? Why are you complaining? You have a computer. You have food on your table. You have a nice comfy warm bed. You have shelter. You have people there for you when you need them. You have your parents who you probably don't always get along with. You have your friends. I know that sometimes people get out of hand and get really cruel about stuff because things happened the way they didn't want it to. There's so many things I want to thank God for that it'll probably take forever for me to write them all down. Just hold your head up high and don't get anything get in your way.

Besides... things happen for a reason right?

That's my New Year's Resolution, I know its a little late but...its: To keep my head up high and don't let anything get me down easily.

This was found in my old xanga. It's amazing.. I thought I deleted this.

Yeah, I have entries like that in my old diaries. It amazes me really....how i could think about that stuff when i was like...12 or 11. I definetely agree with your entry though...people need to stop thinking about how bad their lives are and start thinking about what they have in front of them.

I do agree, that there are people who have far worse problems than us to deal with. I try my hardest to not tell people about the bad parts of my life because I don't really want anyone to feel sorry for me. I know there are far worse situations that others are in, so most of the time, I am thankful for what God gave me. My new years resolution was to not let the bad overcome the godo in my life. There's plenty of things that don't always go the way I want to (believe me, everything seems to go all wrong), but deep down, maybe they're meant to make me stronger. You know what they say, "Losing only makes you stronger." Get better at something, when you lose, that way next time, you might win. I really should quit thinking about the bad things in my life.

But I'm glad you posted this, K1m. It's inspiring me to better my life and look forward to what is good in my life, rather thaan moping around all the time and focusing on the bad things in my life.

I don't believe that Kim wants you to think that your problems are not important... because they are. Just because you don't have to wander off to a soup kitchen to get your dinner does not mean that your fight between you and your best friend is not just as stressful and important. A homeless person has problems, true, but they are different than yours.

However, Kim is correct in saying that our problems shouldn't take over our lives and cause depression... There are some problems that just can not be solved no matter what you do, so you just have to suck it up and roll with the punches, dudes. Take time to help the homeless and forget about your problems for a while.... but don't try to fool yourself into thinking that they're not important.
