is it jus me or does kelly clarkson's new song "Since you been gone" sound just like a song avril lavine would sing ...n doesnt kelly sound jus like avril in the song....its soo weird..its an ok song..its jus i dont think i like wut kely clarkson is doing...cuz in american idol..she was all 'soulful' n 'r n b' ish...but now she's becoming all rockerrr...but whateverrr...what do u think

i don't think she should limit herself to being just "soulful"and "rnbish" ( wink.gif ) i like it that she's getting into some new sounds =) works for me happy.gif

and that's a good thing because avril lavigne is yuck.

I've never heard the song but I saw her on ET on MTV, she said that when she lived in Texas, or wherever she used to live, that she was more into rock than r&b, so she's just doing what she wants to do.

I agree with Sammi - there's a distinct difference. I don't know. She's always dressed how she's wanted to and hasn't come out there and said, "This is what I am," like Avril has presented herself as a punk. Kelly just does whatever the Hell she wants and I totally respect that even though I don't listen to her music.

she sounds a lil bit like avril, but she sounds better. The girl has got talent, and im glad shes finally doing a rock song, it sounds good :)

finally. im glad someone noticed. when i heard it at first i thouht it WAS avril. it sounds exactly like her. kelly clarkson has such a beautiful voice. i'm not a fan of pop music, but when it fits you, you do it. i'm sick of all these female artists trying to sound like rock. avril makes me want to puke. her voice sounds so.. hoarse.

well maybe avril lavigne wrote the song for her, because i heard that avril did write one song for kelly's new cd. and like miss independent, christina wrote that for kelly

avril wrote breakaway (the song) but she didnt want to sing it so she chose kelly to sing it.

and kelly is breaking free of the american idol persona and finally becoming an individual.

if you went to see kelly on tour you'd now that she was always like this rocking, head-banging person.

and kelly did write songs (because of you and behind these hazel eyes) for her sophomore albums, which i think are her best songs.

that was the whole point of american idol, to be able to change music styles. if she couldn't do that, then she would've been voted off because they got a new theme every week.

So yea, I figured that she didn't bue it doesn't really matter that much cos she has a nice voice.
