Haha, I like them cuz it wastes time. Well, at least in our school, it does. And it's funny cuz when we all crawl under our desks that we can barely fit in and look at each other and start laughing.

Yeah.
I hate those.
Especially the tornado drills and the security drills we have to endure at my school every once in a while.
Fire drills are okay, and stop drop and roll is just dumb.

its not possible to fit under our desks, so we either sit there and duck down when admin walk by, or curl up by the wall. either way, quite unpleasant and useless

we basically only have two drills - earthquake and fire...for fire, when we hear the alarm, we automatically get out of our seats, go down the stairs, out to the playground, and line up not facing the school building..*sigh* lol..and for earthquake, we go under our desks, not facing the window, with one hand, cover the back of our necks, and with the other, hold onto the leg of the desk..yup laugh.gif ..haha i like fire drills the best because you get to see friends from other grades and say hi to them hahaha laugh.gif happy.gif

We had a fire drill in the Arts and Science building of my university. Way too many people in the stairwells. In a real fire, we'd all be dead. _dry.gif

At least it got me out of part of my Cleopatra class happy.gif

haha, yeah some of em are really corny. once when i was little they made us get under the tables and then the teachers would start pounding on the table and shaking it trying to imitate a real earthquake. really wierd. but i guess they're OK. i mean, ya get to miss a couple of minutes from classtime, n u never know when there might be a real emergency. it has happened @ my school b4 pinch.gif happy.gif

Those r funny!! nobody actually fits underneath the desks, so everyone starts crackin up. Then the teachers wouldn't let us come up. So we had to crouch under there for lyk 5 minutes, nd then our necks would hurt lyk hell wen we get up. lol

i love drills. you get a break from writing, especially bomb or fire drills cuz then you get to go outside and get a lil fresh air. lock downs are cool too cause the lights are off and everyones huddled in a corner. heh...im drill-fetish.

for those of you who dont know what lock downs are, ther drills were the principal thinks theres someone "unsafe" on school campus and then we all have to lock our doors, close the shutters, turn off the lights and huddle in a place where the someone "unsafe" cant see us. mighty fun in my opinion. biggrin.gif laugh.gif

we dont have any earthquake or tornado drills. i live in arizona. nothing happened around here...including rain.

this one time, when my brother was in middle school. they had a bomb drill and they got to spend the entire day at the park next to the school while the cops went in and checked out the school. no fair stubborn.gif

you're supposed to get into the fetal position once you're under the desk, so your lower half of your body shouldnt be sticking out. pinch.gif

and jesus, its a school.. what do you want them to do? they're just doing the best they can with what the have... dont you think that maybe theres just tooo many people inside a school to have a procedure that is 100% safe?

About 87% of the class can't fit under the desk. Yeah they can't make a procedure that's 100% safe but point being, most of the procedures are quite useless and shouldn't be taught over...and over...and over...and over.

Hehe, we only have fire and earthquake drills...

Fire drills are okay.. except we have to stand outside for fivteen minutes in the cold. Haha, we don't have to do all that stop, drop and roll stuff...

I guess the earthquake thing did come in handy... Even though the earthquake we had back a few years was REALLY mild... haha it juz barely shook the desks.

Ah, well, I guess they just want you to make sure you don't freak out in a fire or earthquake, or whatever else safety thing you have to do. And they just wanna mek sure you're safe... so...

Wtf? That makes no sense. Your damn desk won't snap and hit you, and even if it does, it's what - a two foot drop? If the lamp falls from the ceiling, that's at least a ten foot drop on top of your head.

WE have Tornado Drills and Fire drilsl and the BASE drill. (like an emergency shut down)
In the base drill we have to go to the darkest part of the room and lock the doors. But kids end up making out with people hoping its a person of the opposite sex...blink.gif
