Communism is too idealistic and ignores the human condition, and therefore it's an all around bad idea.

it was a good idea gone bad. carl marx did not have in mind the government that is thought to be evil today in mind when he came up with communism, but as she said, "Communism is too idealistic and ignores the human condition, and therefore it's an all around bad idea." it was not intended to be bad, but it doesnt work, and it leads to having dicators and military control like china

It works wonderfully on paper, but paper ignores human nature.

Like Robert Owen's socialist hideaway in Britain, or, of course, the Soviet example, communism is sub-par rather than par-excellence.

Communism is actually not a bad thing, if you think about it. Everyone being equal, sharing, sounds like a Barney episode, huh? Too bad it doesn't work out. People will be greedy, there will be abuse, it won't work.

yup. it's too idealistic. decades ago when china's government allocate food to all chinese, people become very lazy. coz no matter how unproductive they are, they still get the reward/ salary

That's not a good thing at all...

If I produce something, I have the right to it ... There is no reason I should be forced to share it.

COmmunism is as wrong on paper as it is in practice.

there is a reason you shouldd be forced to share it. in theory, humans could not be so possessive. we would not have to all constantly take those views of something being yours and having to share. were it not for human nature, things wolud not have to be so greedy. communism isnt nearly as wrong on paper as in reality because everything should not be so marterialistic and possesive. it could be a truly good idea, but as always, greed gets in the way

It's not about greed, it's about human rights and also privacy.

If someone is forced to share everything, then he cannot develop an individual personality. He has NO right to privacy (if your house is collective property, you cannot claim a right to privacy within it), which leads to all sorts of problems.

You have an inherent right to things that you create and things that other people voluntarily give you. Communism violates said right and is immoral.

Unbreakable union of freeborn Republics,
Great Russia has welded forever to stand,
Created in struggle, by will of the people,
United and mighty, our Soviet land!

Long live our Soviet motherland,
Built by the people's mighty hand,
Long live our people, united and free,
Strong in a friendship tried by fire,
Long may our crimson flag inspire,
Shining in glory for all men to see!

Through tempests, the sunrays of freedom have cheered us,
Along the new path where great Lenin did lead,
To a great righteous cause he raised up the people,
Inspired us to labor and valorous deed!

Long live our Soviet motherland,
Built by the people's mighty hand,
Long live our people, united and free,
Strong in a friendship tried by fire,
Long may our crimson flag inspire,
Shining in glory for all men to see!

Our army was forged in the heat of grim battle,
Barbarian invaders we'll swiftly strike down,
In combat, the fate of the future is settled,
We'll lead on our country to eternal renown!

Long live our Soviet motherland,
Built by the people's mighty hand,
Long live our people, united and free,
Strong in a friendship tried by fire,
Long may our crimson flag inspire,
Shining in glory for all men to see!

i agree. it sounds ideal & like it would work but then there is corruption & human nature. and even though it might work in China & the country is prospering, it doesn`t mean it will work anywhere else, especially in the US where we are too used to having a lot of freedom...

Try to learn about Karl Marx's 'Communist Manifesto' before you post. What Marx intended communism to be and what it became are two different things.

communism is a paper idea. it works on paper.

why should you buy a lawn mower and your neighbor buy a lawnmower when you could buy one and share?

the only thing is, it requires everyone to be selfless, giving, and caring.

in reality, in communism people don't work hard, because it doesn't help them, it helps other people.

state owned machinery ( like tractors) aren't maintianed because no one cares if it breaks down. it's not thier's anyways.

so, if everyone were like borg and worked for the good of the hive communism would work.

but we're not borg we're human.
