Okay... a little foreword. My school puts out a literary magazine every year with poetry, short stories, etc etc.

I have an idea to make a section in the book called The Xanga Chronicles bringing forth some of North's alumni to publish their entries from Xanga...because honestly, people get into their xanga writings. This is what I'm thinking for the intro page...questions, comments, concerns, etc.:

The Xanga Chronicles

In the big wide world of the web, there exists are certain allure which can entice high school students to the point of failure. Failure, that is, with getting tasks finished. I, myself, as a stereotypically fulfilling A-student, have fallen victim to the long, slender fingers of the net that place themselves under your chin, and gently drag you under. When you hop on the wonderful contraption at 5:00 PM, and realize that what seemed to be little more than 30 minutes of surfing time has escalated into a massive five hours, something has gone amiss.

Aside from this fact, the net serves a purpose contrary to making your grades slip. In a relatively sizeable corner of the internet lies an online journal like none other. It is called Xanga, and should you be unaware of what this oddly named innovation is, just ask someone at North. You’ll find out quick.

You would never expect to see so much emotion within those that you intimately know, but it surfaces intensely on a day to day basis, as passionate updates are common.

Though it is nothing more than a novelty and a dying e-fad, I have Xanga.com to thank for uprooting the inert urge within me to put my thoughts on paper, or keyboard in this context.

The following pages are a brief microcosm of the power of one online journal.

Welcome to the Xanga Chronicles.

Why, being the head of the monthly literary book and editor for the school paper, did I not think of something like that? _dry.gif
Haha, great job.
