Does anyone know where I can get 2 tutorials? One is vectoring, for PHOTOSHOP! and the other one is vexel. I'm not sure if I'm right about what vexel means but this girl did it on her xanga : asiancandie . If anyone knows where I can get tutorials on this, reply please.

You can't vector on Photoshop, you have to have Illustrator.
To vexel, well you can do that on Photoshop, but I forgot what you have to do. Try looking in the tutorials section. |

you can vector on photoshop, i've done it. its like the same thing on illustrator. and the vexel, i think its how this person did it: http://www.xanga.com/asiancandie if its not vexel, can someone tell me how to like put a girl on an image or anything, and then instead of vectoring, i could put like stripes as a fill or something.

There was something about the difference between vexels and vectors posted somewhere, try searching for it.
The concept's pretty much the same. To make your vexel/vector you must have a program that has a Pen tool (that would be Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Jasc Paint Shop Pro). Then you just outline the figure...and fill with stripes. There's a pen tool tutorial in the tutorials section of CB, check it out. |

No. Asian Candie's xanga does not have a vexel. A vector and a vexel are almost the same, except a vexel is done in Photoshop and a vector is done in Illustrator. You cannot vector in Photoshop because it is some sort of raster based program or something. Queentot explained it to me once.. So when you have a vector, it's done in Illustrator with the pen tool or selection tool or something. And when you have a vexel, it's done in Photoshop.. yeah. They're almost the same thing. Asian Candie's layout has uhm.. an outline of a girl. |

the outline is still a vexel.. it was done with the same technique... its a vexel of a sillhuoette(sp).
i'll explain this.. ONE MORE TIME... this is like the 6th time ive said it.. Illustrator is a vector base program. anything you do in illustrator is basically a vector. even if you draw a square.. thats a vector. anything you do in photoshop is a Raster, because PS is a Raster base program. however the... i guess trendy.. version of a vector is when you draw an object or person using different levels of shapes, etc... it's a vector because it's completely scalable. every curve you make is defined by an equation. when you scale your vector, the equation changes to make the curve completely proportionate. when you duplicate this method in photoshop, it's still a raster.. its made up of pixels. there are no equations. when you scale it, the pixels get larger and more choppy. pixel+vector= vexel |
