We wear uniforms to school. It's not as hot as some might think. Knee length skirts and button ups.

We have to wear uniforms to school... and I think it's better cuz I don't need to worry about what to wear to school every day =]

Our dress cannot be more than 5cm above our knees... but people fold up their dress anyway

No but we might start next year which won't matter for me because by then I'll be a Senior and Seniors don't have to wear them. It's not definite though. I kinda wished we had uniforms this year but whatever... if they aren't ugly I'll be happy to wear them.

If only we could have the cute little uniforms they wear in Japanese schools ^^;;;

yeah i have one. its alright...there are tons of rules and they are usually pretty slack, but they're getting more strict about it this year. but its not so bad. it'll be over soon. happy.gif but i'm used to them. i've been wearing a uniform since kindergarten and so yeah...and damn straight i roll. only once though because mine is already hemmed. its about...13 cm above my knee? short enough to look decent but not slutty. the rule is 10cm but whatever. i've never gotten in trouble so yeah. biggrin.gif

Uniforms look tacky.

I mean, yeah, it cuts down time on choosing what to wear every day and saves money so you don't have to buy 1024958340284million outfits to wear everyday to school, but...

Uniforms look tacky.

Uncomfortable... most of the time, have to break it in. Haha

BUT. theres a benefit in it.
less people get their feelings hurted.

Since.. sometimes when we have "NON UNIFORM DRESS DAYS"
some people dont dress as well as others and ridiculed for it

pretty effing stupid if you ask me.

i think it shows equality - u know, no one has to go "Ew, look what she's wearing!" because ya'll are wearing the same things - but i also think that wearing ur own clothes show ur originality - it shows you. i think i would be better off with my own way of dressing, and im glad my school doesnt make us wear uniforms

i kinda wish our school had uniforms. because then iw ouldn`t have to stress out about what to wear and we would all look the same so people couldn`t get made fun of for something they wear, ya know? but oh well.. i guess not having a uniform shows more individuality in a way??

wow i have not posted in a loooooong time...but i'm back, sorta ^^" sad...i bet no one remembers me lol xP
anyways...
i went to catholic school during freshman year and we had uniforms....almost everybody (including me) would roll up our kilts --that's awesome by the way, i thought i was the only one who called em that-- and teachers only noticed if it was way obvious...like if they were so short you can see what's underneath

yea. only two teachers in the whole school wanted the uniform, and a whole bunch of parents "fought" against it. they still made us where them. gosh. its 50 dollars for pants that we're only wearing in school and no where else. and 25 dollars for two shirts. gosh. blink.gif

I wouldn't mind wearing the Japanese school uniforms.

But, I had to wear uniforms from Kindergarden-5th grade. In MS, I got to wear whatever I wanted to that was allowed on the dress code.

Oh yes, guys look hot when they are in uniforms... but us girls dont get the best, but we can fix it.

I wish our school did the uniform thing. It would be great, #1 to see all the uber popular girls fret and say 'oh my gosh, like why?' #2 people wouldnt be so worried about what other people look like on the outside, but on the inside... I used to wear unifoms untild 4th grade. If i had them now it would be great. Popping the coolar of the polo shirts... happy.gif Yes, $300 jeans would be nice, even $100 dollar jeans. Then after the unfirom ruling of the world, we could put Hollister out of business.

school uniforms are required in my school. its not so bad cos you dont have to worry about looking good or what to wear in the morning when everyone is gonna be wearing the same thing. but a lot of the girls, including myself, do roll their skirts and get away with it. 1 outta 3 girls have skirts lower than their knees in my school -- and its a catholic school. & their are days where we could wear our own clothes soo its all good with me.

yeah we have uniforms but its more like a dress code -- specific color polo shirts, specific color pants (no jeans) .. it's actually not bad at all

EDIT
also, i go to a public school

My school has uniforms.
Really ugly ones.
And yes, I roll my skirt.
But the teachers make up un-roll it in winter, especially.
Or the head of the disciplinary deparment decided to randomly enforce the rules to a stronger extent when winter started.
I don't mind my uniforms, I got used to them, but it turns every day into beauty competition for the other girls.
I mock them.
I seriously measured a kilometer of make-up on their faces!

No we dont have to. Even though the school has been talking about it they never follow through with it.
Sometimes I wish we had uniforms then it wouldn’t take me so long to pick out an outfit.
Plus there’s that whole fashion competition where people judge a person on what they’re wearing. Thinking there better then everyone because they’re wearing a certain brand of clothing when some other people dont wear brands at all. Some people in my school are like that and with uniforms none of that would happen anymore.

Hm, my school doesn't require uniform, but I really don't see what the big deal is. I wouldn't mind wearing a uniform...Plus it'd be fun trying to spruce it up without breaking any rules =)

yes i wear uniforms. i like it because i don`t have to spend time figuring out what i`m going to wear. our skirts have to be at least up to our knees. no less. and out shirts have to be tucked in.

we have white blouses and greenish &blue-ish skirts.

Well, I go to private school so yeah, we have uniforms, but I actually enjoy them. They unify you more with your peers, and I think it makes the learning process more enjoyable. Sure, I am a rather eclectic person and what I wear when I get out of school does not mirror my school identity, but that doesn't mean I don't like them. Before I started at the school I was morally against uniforms in fear that it infringes upon your individuality, but they really do help take your focus off what you're wearing and put it more where it counts-- like your school work.

No thank goodness. I don't think I would really like to wear uniforms, the fact that girls have to wear skirts doesn't really make me all that happy about it. Atleast around here its like that. Although I could see where they would want to switch to uniforms to get rid of what ever they may want to call it. (sterotyping by clothing, etc.) Awe I like the uniforms they have in Japan, those I wouldn't actually hate wearing even if their skirts/dresses. Leg warmers look good with them too and quite comfy.
