well i'm a freshman in highschool, and it's my first year at a public school. i feel so much like an outsider because everybody's already got their own friends from middle schools, and they all know eachother except for me. all my friends from my private middle school are at different schools, so that leaves me friendless. anyone got any advice on how to make new friends that i can actually hang with at lunch instead of just talk to in class?

Ooh, the same sort of thing just happened to my friend. Umm, just try looking for some people you think you'd be interested in hanging out with, and talk to them, more and more. That's what my friend did, and now she has a lot of friends.

Join a sport or activity. Be friendly. Find a group that you think you fit into and maybe just ask to sit with them?

thats exactly what happened to me.
the best thing to do is talk to people and get to know them..
befriend one person, then you'll eventually get introduced to their other friends...and so on..

You should be open minded. Get to know people in your classes.

I wish I could help... But really someboday will most likely start talking to you ALOT and then you'll be eating lunch with them and such. When I was a freshman I met alot of my friends from talking to them in class and then coincidentally finding them at lunch :P.

Good luck <33.

You should join clubs and sports and stuff. You'll find a lot of friends there.

Hm, my friend came from private school to middle school...

But she transferred with her best friend...

But her best friend isn't really like, her best friend anymore. they still talk, but they just have like, different groups of friends. mellow.gif

A lot of people like them now. biggrin.gif

Just be more social, i guess.

Ooh... I was like that too.. I was in Vancouver and then moved to this city 45 minutes from Vancouver to this place called Maple Ridge and I didn't know anybody and yah.. But now I have a couple of cool friends _smile.gif All you have to do is say Hi when someone you know walks by, be friendly, ask someone what they got on their test mark or something like that and you'll slowly get new friends. flowers.gif

girl, you dont need friends in highschool. who cares? it is just a big drama of people stabbing you in the back even your best friend. i have gone through highschool without one friend and people still like me. [friend to me means calling them and asking them to go out and do stuff or telling them personal stuff] im a junior and feel better without friends. but thats just me.

cry.gif awwwww i kno exactly how you feel! >_< I was friendless in elementary/middle school in my grade but i made a lot of friends during my high school years =P Wanna know my secret? wink.gif 1) I talked to people in my classes and just say hi and stuff. 2) talk about common interests (movie, songs etc...), 3) see them at lunch and i ask them if tbey want to join me for lunch (if they have friends; then ask their friends to join you too!) and 4) you can join clubs that meets your interests so you can meet people that share the same common interest as you! ^______^ And you're on your way to becoming UN-friendless! wink.gif
