conservative punk

this is a group representing the so called "conservative punk" demographic who supports some 5 conservative punk bands. this makes a good zero amount of sense, since punk spawned from the lower classes and thus more left wing ideals. any upper middle class kid (and thus more likely to be conservative) knows that he is not a punk but more accurately a poseur. i find myself at a loss for words; the absurdity of the entire idea makes me completely incoherent.

anything to support their claim to be conservative and punk at the same time?

Not me.
Punks were (and I guess still are) mostly considered anarchists in a sense and rebels as well.

punk has become a trend. it is sad but true, i fear. hence, the upper middle class kids who think they have to "rebel" and do drugs and dress "punk" to be cool. fads suck. this is just another one. just another entry in the book of when good ideas go bad

Hey...kind of reminds me of Kerry in a way.

He's a devout Catholic, but he's pro-choice!

The most famous Catholic politicians, John F Kennedy and Mario Cuomo, were pro-choice. In fact, Cuomo's defense of a Catholic pro-choice position is widely quoted by Catholics, including John Kerry. There's also the Log Cabin Republicans, a Gay & Lesbian Conservative PAC.

i've concluded that "conservative punk" is just a counter-attack to "punk voter". the rightwings are, all, "they have punk rockers on their side. we need to fight fire with fire!".

and about john kerry being catholic AND pro-choice... that's just rediculous...

who in their right mind is catholic? (buh dum CHI!) hehe

Um...define "poseur" for me, please. In my vocabulary, that doesn't exist. If you were a true punk, YOU WOULDN'T CARE; therefore, this whole thread is absurd.

Seems pretty legit to me. The bands show venue schedules.

Nothing wrong with conservatives playing punk music.

Even though it's not my cup of tea.

pwned

According to the Newspeak Dictionary,

Compassionate Conservative: A conservative who acts like a liberal in order to get elected.

I'm not really a compassionate conservative ... I'm more of a wrath-and-smiting conservative.

thats exactly what i was thinking. not all catholics have to be anti-catholic, and i can accept gay although im undecided on where i stand on their marraiges, but i definitely dont agree with abortion, which is a very catholic belief, so what are you talking about?

what are you talking about? thats like saying we can use blacks as slaves because theyre not people. thats not "how christians do". unlike muslims, we are not supposed to hate on other religons. (muslims only sort of are- they are told to respect us, but not befriend us) but of course there are innocent people being klled, reguardless of their religon. they may be ignorant, but theyre still people. that was a very stupid racist thing to say
