If the election were held today, it would be tied 269-269, and the House would pick Bush.

However, this is very tenable... it can change at any time.

i've got a bad feeling Bush is going to win. with so many people buy into his "scary terrorist" bullshit and the christians voting for him because he's christian(I don't understand the logic either, go ask them) kerry's victory seems unlikely.

edit: on second thought, don't bother. people that religious cannot espouse the virtue of logic, can they?

Actually at the rate things are going, it looks like KErry will just squeeze through, winning 274-264. IT will all come down to Get Out The Vote, an arena which the democrats traditioanlyl dominate but the GOP is getting better at.

The Christians aren't voting for him just because he's Christian, you dumbass.

Many of them aren't voting for him, in fact.

I know the people in my church support him because of what he stands for. Not simply because he's a Christian.

and FYI. Kerry's Catholic. That's also Christian.

so take that stick out of your ass. We're not stupid people, you know.

perhaps i generalised too much, but i know for a fact that the asian christians in my area are mostly pro bush, and when i ask them give the reason of "he's christian." i point out that kerry is catholic but they dont' seem to care.

Kerry is not pro life, and not against gay marriage. That's why they support Bush, not Kerry. I am Catholic, but I support George Bush.

That was a while back, during the GOP Convention.

In the middle of August, Kerry was leading Bush 6 points. Most of the recent polls show Bush up only 1 or 2.

Moreover, the state polls seem to be favorable to Kerry. It is entirely possible htat Bush will win the poular vote but lose the electoral vote because of base energization issues.

no, not really.

kerry's been part of the senate for 20 years.

that was also part of Bush's arguement in the 2nd debate. He was talking about how after 20 years in senate, Kerry didn't do anything significant, but only after 3-4 years as president, he's done so much.

but i agree that bush would make a better president. just dont say he's got more experience then kerry, b/c that's the exact opposite of what he's saying, himself.

Exactly.

That was what i was trying to say. Christians support bush because of what he stands for (i.e. prolife, etc). Not just b/c he's a Christian.

and to strice .. its best not to generalize here.

In my truthful opinion, Edwards is reason enough not to vote for the Kerry|Edwards combo this year.

i aspire to be a lawyer, and putting spin is an important part about it. outright lying, however, is a very stupid thing to do. it's really a moot point to say kerry is a liar when bush based an entire war on a lie.

The reason to disregard the combo because of Edwards is his simple lack of experience.

That's a good thing, not a bad thing.

Time spent on vacation is time not spent bombing other countries.

its 1:06 AM where i am right now, bush has 269 electorial votes, just one away from 270--the magic number, and kerry with 211. It's pretty clear who's going to win...

i wanted kerry to win tho =/
