Okay I think this is where its supposed to be...either here or relationships. Mods, you can move it there if you think it should be there instead...

Anyways, I was just thinking about this because I know that I personally do it sometimes myself. I'm just putting my opinion so please don't be offended and get all pissy about it or something...

Is it just me (or at least in my experience), or do girls (guys as well, but I'm going to focus on girls right now) tend to read into what guys (girls) say/do way too much? Say for instance, a guy says "I don't know."/"Whatever."/etc. a girl can think "Oh my god, is he mad at me?""Does he hate me?""What did I do?!" etc. etc... Or if a guy OR girl buys a present of some sort and its not quite what one expected...thoughts can follow such as "Are they trying to tell me something?""Did they think I want this because I am _____??" etc...Yes my examples kind of suck but anyways.

My point is that, sometimes simple actions/words don't have any specific deeper meaning. Sometimes its exactly what is said/done, like my other example, maybe all he can say is "Whatever." or maybe they did buy that present because they thought one would like it but for no particular bad reason. Seriously. People don't plan things out that much. Well, most. Its no need to get paranoid and so on.

Okay that's the end of my rant. Mainly done to tell myself this and to just share my newly gained knowledge with the rest of you. Enjoy. rolleyes.gif

Yeah, I tend to do that way to often. Like if a friend doesn't seem to be talking much on msn, and then goes for a while without saying brb, I think she's mad at me. And people get pissed at me for doing it _dry.gif But eh...

haha steph i know what ur talking about, i hate it when people bug me and ask me whats wrong just cuz i dont feel like going into detail about my boring life.

But i to, do the same thing.... like if a girl isnt being very chatty with me and she usually is, i feel....i KNOW something is up. whether its me or something else... i just want to help so i mite be a little pushy...but in the end it makes both people feel better ><; But i know when to stop...

And yea ... it is annoying ><; lol ... if people really wanted u to know...they will tell u.

I used to do that all the time. I would read into every little detail. I don't do it as much anymore, which is good becuase I would spend so much time reading into and analyzing and obsessing over pointless things. It was harmful

I believe it's true. I tend to that a lot with my boyfriend. For example, if I ask my boyfriend if something's wrong, and he just says "Nothing", I still believe that something is wrong and keep asking him repeatedly, even though when it really does mean nothing is wrong. And whenever I do that, he always end up getting super annoyed at me.
