Ok, this may seem really stupid, but i am new at this whole thing, and thought i would give it a shot since i found out i had photoshop on my comp
 Are brushes like swirlies and stars, etc. already on there, or do you download them, and how do you use them? Is there a tutorial on this i missed??

brushes can be images of anything including stars, swirls, and other things. when you get photoshop there are already some preset brushes for you but you can always go download more.
