omg we got a new internet thing called ethernet. i don't know what it is... i think its a built in wireless system or something.

but HOLY SHIT it makes CABLE seem SLOW. its so goddamn fast!!!

um. i dont know if it should be in the lounge. but i'm just so amazed i had to post this. does anyone else have ethernet?

Yep, it is noticably fast.
I have it on my laptop and I download songs in like 15 seconds.
Too bad my desktop doesn't have it.

What provider is your ethernet. Not exactly sure what you mean by ethernet. The only kind of ethernet I know is ethernet adapters for dsl connection which dls at about 1-5 minutes per song.

I have ethernet at school... but its not as fast as it can be because we're on LAN on campus. I have DSL at home and that's not bad.

yeah, i love ethernet. i used to have it in my old apartment, but when we moved, this building doesn't have ethernet yet, so we have dial up...

my skool has ethernet. super fast. love it dere..haha..but i have DSL at home..kinda sucky..i want CABLE...puwahahaha

Um.. well.. actually my DSL modem has a light thing that turns on and it says "Ethernet" on it O_o You know, I never knew what it was.. but it was on my modem.. But I mean, anyone who uses the same type of DSL that I have that I know in person... well we all take 15-20 seconds to download a song.

But I mean, I only download about 172-180 kb/sec usually. but I mean, cable goes alot faster.

Yea I'm confused as to what Seon Ho said but it seemed very intellectual happy.gif

Ethernet is a local area network, or LAN. Since the cable used is different (if you use wireless then there are no cables!), and the distance is closer, you can get speeds at up to 100mb per second. As opposed to 768k up/down.

But the fastest speeds are achieved through sneakernet _smile.gif
