If you can't handle an intelligent DISCUSSION about who will win this year's presidential election, don't reply in this topic.

Who do you think will win? I am convinced that, though it will be close, Kerry will win this year. Unless of course, the votes in Florida happen to be recounted haha. Why do I feel this way? Because it was so close in 2000. Gore could have easily won. Now, however, I have heard stories from countless individuals stating why they voted for Bush and now they changed their mind and are voting for Kerry. I've witnessed many statements by those who supported Bush in 2000, but after this mess with Iraq, they no longer support him. It just bothers me to see people convinced Bush will win. They must live in an area where Bush is strongly supported, or else they would definetly not think that. In my experience, even in the most conservative areas (including Fulton County, which is the wealthiest county in georgia) there are at least 25% who would still vote for Kerry (our school did a poll). However, in the most liberal areas (I lived in Portland, where it was extremely liberal) I honestly did not know ONE person who would vote for Bush. So what does that say for Bush...? I would bet $100 that he is going to lose this year.

republicans are straight-forward republicans. no matter if their house crumbles to the ground, they`d still vote for the republican. they`ll still be republicans. they were born and raised to be republicans...so yeah.

that`s true. i supported bush in 2000 just because he was my governor in texas. [very stupid, right?]

i really hope kerry doesn`t lose. cry.gif

even tho im not 18, i guess we youngsters have the right to say something hehe anyways i heard that in the news that bush is winning so far, but they dont know until they find it out at november 2. but anyways i seriously think kerry and bush suck... haha i dont like both of their speeches...yeah you'll see me in past at the debate forums that i said stuff like that bush is gona win...well i didnt know more of his speech and kerry's so yeah so it's my fault saying that bush is better and saying bad stuff about kerry but then again i hate both of them so much... but ay i dont know... i wish there was a president that i will look to...but anyways like princesstkd says... i think the republicans will win cause republicans was raise to be something better that democrats wont win in highest level?? i dont know but anyways i know that's kinda stupid and stuff... ay i dont know but i hate both of them for having the ugliest speech ever... im saying it's ugly and not like their speech wasnt clean and stuff but like i didnt like the gay/lesbian marriages to be approved and i didnt like the higher taxes and i didnt like both of them for other reasons is that if one of them wins, age 18 or older and that are citzens has to go to iraq war... and i think that's really messed up... we will see all men die in this world... i just want the iraq war to be finished and stuff... and just let the age 18 or older get a better future into their lives u know? like a happy ending...ok im off topic am i? yeah this topic was supposed to be who will win...ack i was carried-off...sry!!

but anyways yeah i wont say that bush will win this time but like the results in the news are saying bush heh... but i dont know...lets see heh

I'm siding with both of them..

kerry just can't seem to make up his mind on the war in Iraq.. and bush isn't doing a good job as a president. bush is spending millions of dollars creating weapons on mass destruction instead of spending money on homeland security. in the debate they seemed to be.. 'bashing' each other. I found that pretty amusing. =]

shouldn't this thread be in the debate forum?

Exactly. Republicans are typical republicans. Most of them are wealthy and selfish and want someone ruling them who is exactly like them. Except when I went to a rally where Kerry spoke and I saw a group of people who all wore the same shirt that read "Yes, I am a republican. But I'm voting for John Kerry." I liked them.

The only way George W. Bush will win this election is if he has a brother in every state.

America is one of the best countries in the world. We deserve a leader who doesnt make up his own words, knows what he is doing, and doesnt bomb other countries for practically no reason.

Kerry Edwards '04....all the way.

isn't this supposed to be in DEBATE?

Anyway, I support Kerry (I was raised democrat) and I believe in everything democrats stand for. But I think Bush will win, their are to many bullshitting rednecks out their who call him DUBYA and will vote for him because they don't understand politics. But even though Kerry is the lesser of evils and even though I support him he still isn't the best man for the job. I honestly think that we should nominate someone who is and not some daddy's boy who failed every company that he has run and not some old guy who can't make up his mind. Anyway--- I think Bush will win, unforrtunatly.

(maybe that all made sense)

Based on the debate, I think Kerry had the upper hand. Kerry's "flip-flopper-ness" isn't a valid argument, as he stated there were 2 ways to handle Iraq, and Bush chose the wrong way. Also, now that Bush started the iraqi ordeal, Kerry has absolutely no choice about bringing the troops back to the U.S. until it's over. I think Bush has no real argument for calling Kerry a flip-flopper anymore, especially aftrer Kerry solidified his position. As of now, Bush is beating himself down with all the deaths in Iraq and with a poll saying that 70% of americans dont want the next presidency to be run the same way, I think Kerry has a potent shot at winning the election. Of course, those 2 aren't the best choices for America...

VOTE NADER (lol jk)

the more I read about Nadar the more I am willing to support him actually, but I haven't read a lot (goes and reads more.) I don't know why people dismiss Nadar so easily. My mom says that he is their just to split votes, and I have heard people say that if you vote for him that it's just a wasted vote because it only matters if your voting Democrat or Republican. But comradred once said something about you should vote for who you think is best and not just who is democrat or republican... I dunno I will have to look that up to *sighs*

actually, i live in an extremely wealthy area in georgia (most my friend's houses are worth over a million dollars, i know this cause one of them's selling their house for 1.2 million) and they do know what they are talking about, they just have different opions. the rednecks who support bush are actually stupid because they're doing themselves more harm than good, but i can understand the richest people in america supporting bush since they do benefit from him. only two types of people will be voting for him this november: stupid poor people or smart rich people. It's a good thing the majority of our country isn't rich.

I'm really not sure who is going to win. Im hoping Kerry wins though. But sometimes I think Bush is going to win because alot of people in other states like and support him. I don't know, I'm just really confused about the whole election. Bush hasn't given any valid reasons to why we're in Iraq so thats some what of why I'm hoping he loses.

_unsure.gif Where do I fit in? I'm not exactly poor anymore, but I will never seriously admit to being stupid.

Anyway, I hope Nadar will win, but since that is too far fetched, I'm voting Bush who is better than Kerry, in my opinion.

I don't understand why someone would be "convinced" that someone is going to win .... I mean, its not something that is predictable ... so how can you as.sume? If you are convinced that someone is going to win then you are just a complete moron.

I'm actually quite sick of these topics and I'd rather not waste my energy typing out one of these replies again ... It just seems that a lot of the teenage crowd is going with Kerry because its "the cool thing to do" and it has become pop-culture to make fun of George W. Bush and his speech habits. I myself am a teenager and don't think myself to be that much politically informed. I am just disturbed by the fact that many teenagers support Kerry without knowing the facts.

i don't think thats true, i find a lot of kids my age supporting bush because they have this bizarre idea that if we stop plucking up the middle east al quaeda will come and blow up disneyland or something. i have an uneasy feeling that bush will win, but i also live in a republican area(you can tell by the white people in their escalades sporting little god bless america stickers). this paranoia is what bush is banking on and i think it's working.

I live in New York, which is most likely going to go to the dems. Most kids in my school support Kerry, only a handful support Bush.

I think Bush will win, because Kerry will have to take Florida or some other southern states, and I don't see that happening. I think Americans are more concerned with their security, and wouldn't trust John Kerry with watching over them.

Actually, it's not uncommon for teenagers to be well informed and politically active. I know that it really depends on how your raised that what your views are, but I think teenagers are pretty well informed.

That isn't the topic of this thread (the topic is asking who will win and why, not why you picked that candidate), but i'll answer anyway. George Bush will do what's best for America, unlike Kerry who will wait to see if it pbuttes the "global test."

Like I said, this isn't the thread to debate the two candidates, try not to steer the discussion off topic.

I just don't know how you could say that Bush let 9/11 happen remember! If any of you have ever seen Fahrenheit 9/11, you know what I am saying. If you haven’t seen it you need to...its out on DVD now!

The ignorance people have these days is ridiculous. Bush is all about money...and that is plain and simple. You think we invaded Iraq to get weapons of mass destruction...think again. Why is it when we went in we were only posting troops around the oil fields and not going after the real enemy Osama Bin Laden? I just don't see any significance in why we waged war on Iraq. We haven't found any type of weapons...but, Bush knows of one person that actually does have nukes...and it’s that guy in North Korea. But are we doing anything about him, of course not Bush doesn't want to F*ck up before he gets re-elected. Sure eventually Iraq was going to be a problem but, why go after someone that we don't need right now. And, Bushes notion of Kerry being a flip-flopper is ridiculous. Like Kerry said on the debate last Thursday which do think is worst having a flip-flopper or having someone make a decision like Iraq. Over 1,000 American troops died over a personnel vendetta that could have been settled in a different way.

Republicans are for Rich people, and Bush gives them a whole lot of tax cuts that Middle Class would not benefit from. What happened to taking care of our own people? Over half of all Americans don’t have health care, but we can spend billions of dollars to fund a war. With those billions of dollars we could pay our teachers, police officers, and fire fighters a lot more than they are getting paid now. I personally would pay more taxes to have free education and free health care. Those are necessities that every American should have the privilege to have. We are so called “The land of the free” but we have to pay for buying a car and driving on US soil, and we buy a house but have to pay taxes for the land we put it on. Since we have to pay for the land than this shouldn’t be called the land of the free, it should be called “The land of the bought”

Just think about every angle before you all make your decision on voting this year. I’ve been a democrat for the longest and understanding politics and finding your candidate is not easy just think of everything.

I'm pretty sure if Al Gore was there, 9/11 wouldn't have happened, right? Yeah, Gore would have started unprovoked war against the Al-Queda.
