something to ponder about.

It's 3:50 AM right now, and this is what the lack of sleep got me thinking pondering about.

Okay, let's say for example, there was no createBlog to begin with. createBlog didn't exist. Yet your createBlog friends went to the same school as you. Would you talk to them like you do here? Would you have become friends with them like you did here? It's because we're meeting through internet, that we do not judge by our apperance, yet by our personalities. Then share pictures with one another and accept each other for who we are. Because often times, or should I say 99% of the times, people tend to judge the book by its cover. We think we can tell so much about the person just by the way they dress, talk, how their hair looks, etc.

So yeah. My question is, if the createBlog friends you had right now went to your school, yet you didn't know them from createBlog and they just wnt to your school to begin with, would you talk to them? Become friends with them?

My answer is, eh probably not. Maybe some, but most of them no. Frankly, most of the kids that I hang out with are asians so I might be able to become friends with some, but non-asians I'm not sure. (Not being racist or anything, I also do have many non-asian friends. It's just that as you progress into highschool, and college that the diversity becomes much more obvious).

(I'm expecting some serious answers here so please, if you're going to joke around, just don't post at all. If I see you kidding around, you'll see then. I gave you my warning. rolleyes.gif )

Uh. That quite wasn't my point. Care to read my prior post again? Tell me if you have a hard time getting my point; I'll be glad to articulate. happy.gif

ahh i know what u are talking about tongue.gif

Actually in person i look like a b*tch. That's what i've been told rolleyes.gif So i guess in person no one wants to talk to me. LIke this one time in High school.. this girl who always thought that i was a b*tch. Then i started talking to her... then she was like.. "I always thought that u were mean and stuff" ohmy.gif I'm not mean... stubborn.gif She thought that i was stuck up.. _dry.gif bleh. So in high school... all my friends are non asian.. all the asians would stick together... mellow.gif haha they're they ones who are stuck up.. Bleh bleh biggrin.gif

And u are right... i dont think i would talk to anyone here in person if they were at my school.

umm some probably, some probably not. i'm (generally) a friendly person and i talk to a lot of people at my school so yeah. i'd just be closer to some people. yes i have opinions on people's looks but i become friends with people due to their personality, so if the nice and awesome people are like that offline too, then yeah for sure i'd be friends with them.

ha, i was going to make a topic like this just now, but you beat me to it _smile.gif

to answer your question, definitely not. at school, i have only a few very close friends. i get very little respect from anyone. however, when i'm on the internet, i gain so much more respect. it's because the only thing people can judge me on are my words. not the way i look.
in fact, when i am talking to new people, and ask them to guess my age, the most common answer is 25. when i tell them i'm only 16, they freak out. that's why i love the internet. you are respected for how you think, not what you look like.

well i don't really know anyone here from createblog that well but from what i've seen most of them...no because some of them have personalities that i don't think that i would like when i am with them in school. ys they look good in oictures and all but when you meet someone it's totally different.

*tried best to answer your question*

hey do u think you would be friends with me in school?
lets say i wasn't black then?

eh, i dunno. i'm ususally shy, so it takes a while for me to make new friends. but people say i look either friendly or mean, so if you approach me, i might want to become your friend.

It's hard to tell. There are some people on here that I, most likely, would never talk to because they are a lot younger than I am. But those of you who are around my age and grade...hmmm. Offline, I have a lot of friends and I'm friends with all kinds of people. The people that I have met here at CB that I was able to carry a conversation with for more than a few minutes, without an awkward silence or hesitation, I definitley think I would be friends with them if I met them at school or something. But those people where it's just a "hey, hi, hello"...probably not.

Yeah.
It's kinda hard to tell what we'd be like in-person.
I'm pretty shy.
I could see myself hanging out with a select few from createBlog.. I already hang out with Liz (Thradrien_blake).. we're best friends in-person, as well as online. =]

But back to your thread.
Hm.
Since I'm really shy, and it's hard to tell if we'd all act like we do online as well as offline.. it's kinda hard to tell.
Hm. I'd probably befriend some of you, though. :P

I would probably talk to my friends from createBlog if they went to my school and i didnt know before...at first it would be kinda weird but since Ive known them through school and didnt really know their personality until I met them on createblog, I would be fine with it.

Most likely, I would. I'm very friendly and talk to anyone who talks to me. But yes, we tend to judge people by the way they look which is wrong because looks are deceiving. I'm trying not to do that because the people who you think are nice can be the meanest people of them all.
