Im made my first skin yesterday. After hours of tinkering with the code, I got the chatterbox and the blog to be positioned perfectly, only to find out that it didn't look good on other comps. I think the difference is the browser and the screen resolution. So I used the settings that most people use (Internet explorer + 1024x768) and changed the xanga to fit those settings. So now it looks good for those people, but for people like me who use Firefox or a higher resolution, it doesn't look good.
My xanga is www.xanga.com/nitsuj I was wondering if theres a way I can get it to be good for everyone? Thanks! |

So this is something that's normal and there is no way to fix it? :/

NO. I'm not 13. or 14. or 15. or 16. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Group: Member Posts: 4,616 Joined: Jul 2004 Member No: 30,577 |
probably not, although maybe you could make two of the same skins, each one positioned differently for the different resolutions. although it would take a lot more effort.

So I would have people choose their resolution and set it up accordingly?

the best thing you can do is align everything to the left or align everything to the center. once you make a decision, just make the necessary changes. aligning everything in the center is kinda tricky... it leaves no room for mistakes in coordinates. if you align everything to the left, it's much easier, but for bigger resolutions, the right side of the window might be a little empty. my xanga's aligned to the left, and so is my bf's... but they still look all right in xangas over 1024x768 res. it's all based on the design ;o
