I have a friend we'll call him derelique. =) i guess you already figured out his name. He keeps trying to cut himself...he doesn't think is life is worth living. He calls himself a loser and that sort've thing....what do i do? I'm sorta scared, what if he kills himself?! He's one of my best buds too...

Talk to him. Glad he's going to see a counselor.. I bet he just wanted attention..  But I'm not sure.

eh.. did u catch him trying to cut himself? or did u actually see the scars? i don't understand HOW you can "try" to cut urself. u either did.. or didn't...

i went thru the same situation a few weeks ago. one of my best buds was claiming he was gonna commit suicide cuz his life wasnt worth living. and i was like "no brandon i love you soo much dont go" and hes like "good bye" and he hung up.. he lives in cali so all we have is the phone.. but he ended up not doing it becuz i think he finally realized that too many ppl love him and that he has college and what not.
so did he say he was commiting suicide?.. cuz i think if they say they are gonna do it the chances of them doing it are slim to none.. my uncle commited suicide and he didnt mention a word about it.. so did my dad's friend.. so idk.. but if anything make him feel loved.. like he is the greatest thing to you and that you mean alot to him.. |

Most serious suicidal people will announce their intent or show signs of leaving the Earth, I think as a cry for help from friends to stop him. If he tells you he's gonna do it, stop him. WITH ALL MEANS POSSIBLE.
Cutting is overrated. I mean, it hurts, and in the end, you feel more pain. Hitting the bedroom wall would be much more helpful. Tell him to attack inanimate objects. Encouraging him that life is worth it won't be a one day thing. =O Getting all his friends over for a fun party will def. help. And then call him up ALOT. just to talk to him/chat n stuff. yea alot of POSITIVE socialing for a long period of time will help. And try to find the root problem for why he feels like not living. =) Have a nice day!!! |

by all means do everything in ur power to stop him.....say that lyf is worth living because u have all these ppl that love u... i kno that was crappy but try to at least do sumthing.... dont just stand there and watch him fall...

try to talk to him, if he keeps on talking all suicidal ish...tell his parents or a gaurdian.

all you can do is be there for him and let him know why his life is worth living .. ultimately your friend has to realize that .. if you think it`s becoming really serious and you`re worried try getting help..

that's great that you got him to go to a guidance counselor! but he might need a little more than that maybe go to a theripist
