Do you feel as god should be used as entertainment, even though there is a message behind the entertainment?

CAuse, I been wondering... Kanye West, I never heard of him before his car accident... And when he got into a car accident, got really messed up, he made a song about it. And it feels like publicity and people would feel remorse/sorry for, watever... And then he made the song "jesus walks" and obviously, not all, but ALOT ALOT ALOT of people would praise god as well. So not many would dis god... And ne thing that praises god, peope who do believe in god are of course gonna give props for praising god. But i feel as though, its all money, a strategic marketing plan. If you praise god, i think it should be left out of entertainment...

And after he gots his fame now, doing his tour, and now I look at his new vid, its like totally different, away from his style he started with. I dunno~

Don't bash me pleazy... Its my 2 cents~ happy.gif

i dont think theres nothing wrong with promoting god in our culture...u ever heared of christian hip hop its pretty ill...but kayne is a real good rapper but i dont kno what hes trying to do with taht jesus walks song...i read an article that he charged a church 30k to perform and he arrived late and stuff but still over charged...what about mase? hes a pastor and many dont see it he is saved and a christian...i also read in an article is he trying 2 use mtv so he can give a preach...i think thats awesome...i dont kno why would it be a big deal? just like pple promote the devil why cant they promote god? we are humans u kno cool.gif

many christian rappers dont care about the money they care about who they reach...some secular rappers all they rap about is money...i get where your coming from do..

article at the ebenezer church!!

Praise The Lord and pass the large 30:Rapper kayne west is taking "jesus walks" all the way to the BANK...We hear West charged the Ebenezer AME Church in Fort Washington, Md.,a whopping $30,000 to perform his pseudo-gospel single at a gathering there Friday. But, almost three hours late, the rapper showed up without a deejay, backup singers or dancers. Accompanied by the church band,West performed an abbreviated version of "All Falls Down" before doing "Jesus Walk" and exiting. An Ebenezer official refused to confirm West's large fee. "The church doesn't like to talk about contracted rates," says the Rev. Tony Lee, senior youth minister at the church..

well, music is about self expression. and if these people want to rap, sing, whatever about God, Jesus, Allah, Buddha, the cracker jack box, whoever, then they are free to do so. whether or not it really is about money, it doesn't matter if it is actually making a positive impact on those who listen to their music.

i mean, it sure beats rapping or singing about their cars or money the the number of women they sleep with every night.

well in alot of my songs i blatantly show disrespect for god and his followers. it's only fair he can rap about what he wants. i'll just choose not to listen.

Yeah, that did happen. I live in MD and they talked about it on the radio and suchnot.

But yeah, I don't have a problem with religion in songs, as long as inspires, not alienates. Music is a form of self-expression and if you have it within you to praise God, then do it.
