Building is better. I know alot about computers and the fact that building a computer is more fun and a bit less expensive then buying one.

Also you wouldn't know what they put in those computers you see in those ads (they may lie and give you cheap parts that breakdown and rip you off)

You also know what is in the computer if you or a friend builts it.

ibuilt my computer, it is easy...

first you practice on old computers, (plug and unplug) then you just identify things inside of your computer..

for ex:

hardrive
videocard
motherboard
power supply
cd rom
fan
cooler

and the rest is optionable like

Burner
3/1 floppy - no one really uses this
and other mods

Build your own PC only if you know what you're doing.

Other than that, just buy one and get new parts as you need them.

This should be moved to Technology.

I know what I'm doing, I can do it.
A lot are just made from old parts so it may suck but I can always buy a better part later and replace it.

i heard that building is a lot easier on your wallet, but more problems are found in home-built computers than bought ones... hm. depends.
for me, i just buy mine. :]

Building is definatly the best choice, unless of course you can get some of the great deals that come only once in a while from a company. But these are usually mistakes and what not. Plus building will help you learn how your computer works and what not.
