Ive burned a couple of cds (only 3) and one of them skips halfway through. Is there any tips? Any reasons why its ok or not ok burn CDs?

Ive been wondering because I've been told that there is this trick to burning CDs.

1. Get a better program
2. Close down any programs that might be open when burning
3. Try not to be around the computer while burning. Just leave it until it finishes.

These are things that my brother does. Hope it helps.

i use windows media player. well are you downloading the songs from the net and then burning them? if that is the case i think you should listen to your songs before burning them to a disc. if not find better quality CD-R's.

Depends on your cdr burner and what program you used. Like what everyone else suggested, you can change the program which you use to burn. I use Nero to burn music/movies sometimes. Also make sure you use good cds, not cheap ones. And if it skips, try making sure your cd aint scratch and don't burn the cd at a fast speed may make a different. Is you burn at 48X for example, burn at a lower speed like 40X.

I think this topic should be moved to technology.

get a better program as well as a better cd burner drive, when you burn your cds make sure you close down all your other programs. i didn't so everytime i burn a cd, my cd would stop half way and i wasted my time as well as my disc
