what about the SATs??? you have to think about your future. If I take the challenging course, I will benefit in my future classes. Keep that in mind.

they look at both, from the time you start 9th grade your starting your transcript which colleges and university look at to see whether you good or not.

i would take an easy a because all my other classes are hard. strict teachers too. but in the long run the challenging teacher you'll benifit from

This depends on my current GPA. If I need to pull it up, then I'll opt for the easy way, if it's just fine and I can afford an average grade, then I'll challenge myself.

The definition of "challenge" varies from person to person. I know a couple of juniors in college who thinks High School geometry IS a challenge...

And this is about an English teacher?
If so, I'd take the latter. An easy 'A' wouldn't be very fun, now would it?
-is an English whiz-
^_^u Besides, I hate having nothing to do, and a English teacher would leave something to be desired in that catagory.

I love English, but only to the extent of analyzing and writing.

If you mean a challenge where homework means 5 thick books a week... then oh no. There's no way I'm going to suffer that needlessly.

Come to think about, I would actually complain about the teacher, then my parents would most likely force me into a harder class.....
Just like they did in math........ -.-u

but then, since it is english, i'll just take the easy class because i hate english.

Well, if you keep on taking easy a teachers and you want to goto college; you are f*ed because you arent getting prepared properly.

Inthemudhole mentioned for math - YES; unless you are going into a career that requires a higher level of math.

So, it's up to you; but a challenging teacher is more beneficial in the long run because you KNOW where you stand in the department of knowledge - instead of a false reading.

you're 100% wrong.

if i took the easiest classes in the world and got 100s in all of them, they wouldn't care.

but if i took a lot of AP classes and maintained a high B or low A, they'd think "wow this guy works hard if he can maintain those grades"

it's ultimately ur choice...i'd go with the tougher classes. just work hard, and then you can still get your A

I do want an easy A teacher, but I also want to be recognized for working hard in that class.. So I want my teacher to be sort of easy and tough at the same time. Like my 10th grade english teacher. I thought she was tough but her work was fairly easy, but some were tough. I want it to be evened out.

well, it's like this folks. The hard english teacher and the easy english teacher are teaching the same course, pre-AP/college english. But! Theytold us that they are "supposedly" working together. Meaning that they would assign the same hw/cw. But on the very first day of school, kruger (my current english teacher) assigns 1 paragraph of hw, and Vehar (The hard teacher) assigns 2 pages minimum!!

What do you think folks?

btw. i get 4 bathroom pasess from Kruger, meanwhile students from Vehar only get 2.. each pass is worth 100% on a quiz. quizzes are worth 20% of your grade.. u do the math.. yepp, an easy 80%.. i can get a C and bring it up to an A.

i rather say fun, funny, nice, friendly, easy teacher cause i hate going stress cause in the future...you might get high blood pressure or somewhat disease that happened to this unie i know she's like sumol yuh suht...aka 26 years old... and she had taken so many AP & Honor classes when she was in high school...and she just finished university of college like 2 years ago and she had so much stress during her college year too so so much stress can lead to disease... :shudders:

Id rather have a more challeging teacher if it meant Id actually know something new. I mean Im not wasting my year sitting in class and coming out as an idiot.. and Im not slacker either.. Once one of my French teachers was such a slacker and never taught us anything, I dont even know wth we did all year, and he gave me 98%s.. and I got mad cause he hasnt even seen me speak french at all. it was stupid, so I dropped french the following year x]

It really depends on the class.... if it's AP, then I want a challenging teacher, if it's not... I want as easy A as possible!

Depends. English I'm really good at, so I'll probably just get the easy A. Unless it's math, then I'll take the challenging teacher.

Challenging teacher. BELIEVE ME, you do NOT want a bitchy teacher who gives you easy A's. I've been through it. It was not pretty.

I had the laziest teacher ON EARTH. Once we had this really important project that everyone was working their ass off for, and then what does she do? SHE GIVES EVERYONE THE SAME EXACT SCORE.

Which was, precisely, 98/100. Bullsh*t, or what?

You could also get away with undone homework, or CRAP for homework. Honestly, I copied word for word off my science textbook and she didn't give a crap.

I got a 99% average at the end of my 3 terms. I still didn't like her any better. It's not like I learned anything from her class, either.
