haha yea this topics about tardies... im pretty well known for being tardy but this year its gonna change...i cant be tardy even if i wanted to lol.....

What are your school policies? Mine has changed this year and its very strict...

3 Tardies = an Absences
3 un excused Absences = 230 $ fine....
5 Un excused Absences = Automatic F in the coarse for the rest of the Semester.

Yea our school loses money when we're not there haha...weird new rules..kinda sucks, what are ur attendence policies?

Wow! That is kinda strict.

Ours depends on the teacher.
Most either take away points from you.. or they mark it in their book.. usually something like if you're late 3 times, it's either considered an absence, or you get a detention.

If you're tardy, then you lose points in that class that you were late for. But it is the teacher's decision how many points you lose.

You have to pay $230?? Woah.

If you're absent from school you get a card sent home that you have to send a note to the attendance office. If you cut you get a card mailed home. Actually you get a card sent home for everything.

we get a demerit...idk if anybody has those but if we get five demerits...we get a detention.

wow, that's really strict. eh, i'm not sure about the attendance policy because i'm usually never late/absent. but if you're late to a class, you sometimes need to bring a late pass, and the teacher marks it down. if you're absent, then you need to bring a note explaining why you were absent and have each period teacher sign it.

Yep. that very strict. My school also just send out cards in the mail telling you you been absent from a class or a day. They sometimes call you if you been absent with a computer response but nothing serious happens to you if it does.

there are so many ppls who got more than 23 tardies...and nothing happened...

i dont know wats gona happen this year, but yeah... i missed out on everything during the month of may and june... cause i was very ill cant move body, stay in bed-_-;; so yeah heh....

but i dont need to wry about them...cause i hate getting tardies and if i get one i'll be reallie stressed out...and if my friend do something that make me late to get to class...he/she's dead lol

my school started that policy last school year. most of my teachers didn't follow this policy, becuz i've skipped school plenty of times, but yet, i still got an A in my citizenship [we have two grades, scholarship, which reflects how well you did in the class, and citizenship which reflects how you behave in class] grade. however, my math teacher was the only teacher that actually follows it, and gave me an F ! She ruined my chances of getting into CSF and not be able to graduate in white [it's like honors].

We're supposed to get written up for being late to class, but as long as you aren't horribly late they don't mind so much. 4 unexcused tardies to school get you a detention. We basically just get lots of detentions.

ugh at my school if ur late for one class u get detention and if you forget to sign in if your late in the morning its 2 detentions... well i guess its not as bad as some off the other ones here...

A tardy or an absence is called a cut. If you get three cuts in one semester, your grade drops one level (C- to a D+). Or is it one whole letter grade? I'm not sure.

If you get 5 "cuts" in one semester, you fail the course.

At my school, there aren't any bells. The teacher's just let you out 5 minutes before your next class. They're trying to get you used to college. Some teachers are pretty lax if you walk in a few seconds late. Actually, a few of my teachers come late to class lol.

i'm in college so uhm, all of my teachers take attendance.. but of course, it's your choice to go or not.. each teacher has their own rules when it comes to attendance... my japanese professor lowers your grade if you miss class twice without an excuse or something.. but eh.. everyone is different

da last skol i attended were pretty cool. we can take 2 days leave for every module. our attendance must not drop below 90% if not we will be barred for examinations for tat module. plus it depends on da lecturer as well. we can stil come into class 1/2 late as well and yet still be marked present. oh yeah. did i mention tat we can leave da klas if we want to. let's say imma hungry and wanna grab a bite, i can just leave da klas and head down to da skol canteen. but most of da time, i dun return back to klas. before i knew it, lesson is over and imma still chilling over at ma club!! so yeah. ma skol totally rocks!! but we gotta be careful and not get overboard coz it might lead to serious problems if found out. but most of da time, i escaped unhurt!!

hmm.... i think if u have too many tardies u get sent to detention and after the 1st time u go 2 detention u keep on going 2 dentention.....and then once u have had so many detentions u go to ISS....and so on lol

Wow that is REALLY strict.

Our school doesn't really care. It depends on your teacher. If you have a teacher who's more tardy than you, then obviously nothing happens. If he ever decides to punish you, you can just be like, "Oh, so how many times have YOU been tardy?" Then he has nothing to say. Ahahah.

If you're late...I think like 3 or 5 times, then you get a call home. And my parents dont' care, so long as I don't skip.

3 unexcused absences = one after-school detention
5 detentions = one suspention
5 suspentions = u get expelled..


i've only been late once this year.
