It kinda meanz that ma parents are FRESH OFF the BOAT
since ma parents were born in tha Philippines,
they hav a very strong accent,
so they went here to the USA (fob)
it sounds kinda funny when u mimmick them

Ehm, my mom and dad aren't FOBS. They were both born in the us... But my Gung-Gung and Paw-Paw are.. They're not really fresh, seeing as how they both turned 80 fairly recently.

my parents were born and raised in the philippines too and yea they r fobs. haha me n my bro make fun of my parents accents. when they try to say beach it sounds like they are sayin b!tch. or like b4 i waz lookin for a pin and my mom said the pin is over there and it sounded like the *guy stuffy* over there

What's wrong with pointing at stuff with your middle finger? Because you look foreign you can get away with it. I always say there's nothing wrong with pointing with the middle finger. I find it cool that my parents don't have any sort of accent even though they came to the US like 17 years ago compared to some Foreign people who can live in the US for like 50 years and still have a think accent.

my parents dont hav a thick fob accent, and they're easy to understand... I wasted my accent like three yrs after i got here, so no more prob with that...

yea, my parents are FOP's (Fresh Off the Plane) although they're not technically "fresh" b/c we've been here for 9 years so yea huh.gif . I mean I help them pronounce words correctly, like I'll say it and then they'll say it, but they keep on saying it wrong and then I end up saying it wrong too. Its funny laugh.gif. But hey, they're old so I don't really expect them to be able to comprehend the diverse American language (whoa..big words happy.gif) I mostly speak vietnamese to them.

yep mai parents are fob from the pilipinas too!! lol straight up philippines! but not too much embarrassment, my mom hardly talks, and my dad's accent is like nothing, only when he says a few words like "cushion" he sez "cu-chun" its funny i dunno wat hes even sayin. but he tries to act like hes an "americano" sometimes when since they'r from pampanga he looks kinda mexican [tho many ancestors ages ago were portugese in my fam, u kno wen da spaniards blahblah blah] my mom looks chinese/korean so wehn we go to "han ah reum" the korean food market the works talk to my mom its funny.

the pin is over there. LMAO. the beach. b!tch. mai brother and i [or should i use wat i say "kuya" lol] tell my mom "say pack that sheet." lol u kno, with the f s and the ps. it sounds like "f*ck that sh*t". hehe.

I agree.. i mean my parents are like that and i make fun of them sometimes as a joke.. but to be EMBARASSED because of it? I mean think about how much of an accent you would have if you had to move to paris or something and try to learn the french accent while speaking french.

my dad is SUCH a HUGE fob. its weird, like he mixes up "he" and "she" and puts together weird meals for breakfast, like and egg and ketchup sandwitch. yuck.
