it was wayyy too gory for me! i hid my face in my friend's shoulder the whole time. but i'm still looking forward to the sequel : ) haha, love to torture myself.

Yeah! The movie is bloody as hell. Limbs and all kinds of body parts get sliced and diced and blood gets spewed everywhere! Quentin Tarantino's ode to old kung fu flicks rocked.

I think it was more about samurai flicks. i mean most of the fighting were with knives and swords and took place in japan. plus, uma thurman wore that yellow suit which bruce lee wore in "the game of death", and he had his own style in Jeet Kune Do, not Kung Fu. |

bruce lee was chinese...and sure, it was set in japan, but a lot of the story, music, and characters were from old old chinese kung fu movies
