For my chem class, we replaced the huge textbooks with cd's. we're given cd's to take home and the textbook stay in class. that's awesome... they should start doing that to all the classes.

we've been using cds for 2 years already....BUT we still got heavy textbooks! Geez...And to be frank, cds aren't that good...they're NOT informative, and they're boring. if you only study them for exams/tests, you'll end up failing it. so NEVER try that.

my friends brother's high school does that. i'd rather bring home a CD (less than a pound) than a huge textbook (10 lbs?) or just read the textbook online, though that may create problems for kids without internet access

I don't like that idea. I HATE staring at the computer screen for so long if I have to spend a certain amount of time read something.. and WHAT IF someone's computer is broken? Then how would they be able to view it? There are so many pros and cons towards it lol. And most of all, a CD is smaller, it oculd get lost. Or it could get seriously damaged and that could destroy the whole entire CD. Bleh that's the bad news about it.

The GOOD NEWS is that it's lighter, you can keep it at home, and to use INTERNET ADDICTS, we can read it while we're online when we get bored and have to eventually read any of the stuff on the cd. It's very convenient when you think about it.

They should have a choice of the cd or the book to take home.

In fact, u know what's a better Idea? They should have enough copies of books to have a class set AND books for the whole school.

yea, I agree with ms.Just_Dream. I try avoiding reading a large sum of text when I'm at the computer. Now having to read a chapter on the computer-that's ganna kill my eyes in no time. >.<;;

yeah, i have that in chem too, and nothing else, but i opted to get a book instead(because we got to choose)because i dont want to pay $50something if i scratch it, even if it still works. plus i wont be able to study if the computer breaks(which it does fairly often). i am getting a friend to make me a copy though... shifty.gif
