I like to live by that quote . . . it makes me feel better. Now as for it being true, I guess no one knows; but I believe in fate.

But just because you believe you're in control doesn't mean that fate doesn't exist. Which is what I was saying in my previous post.

The point is moot. The only way to explain that fate exists is to say that some people are fated to believe in fate, and others are fated to believe in free will. But since those who believe in free will tend to get on better in society, fate must be pretty illogical to harm its own believers.

Yes, fate exists. But people can be strong-willed and control it as Fae stated. However, there is another belief, the belief of Simultaneous Time where it states that answers, explains, and negates the entire idea of anything coming first (it means that your past, present, and future is yourself) and it also states that there are infinite chains of events. For example, this morning you could brush your teeth. But, in another event, you chose not to brush your teeth. It is a complicated concept, but it explains that you can gain control of your fate instead of fate gaining control of you.

yea i believe in fate...im not trying 2 get religious....but i believe god has a reason for everything that happens...then again he doesnt crontoll us...he makes us make oour own mistakes and choose are own way....that way we learn from our mistakes...but u kno some pple believe diff things!...peace!

I don't think everything happens for a reason. I mean, why would it matter what time you took a piss in the afternoon?

Maybe these things like peeing lead to things that require a reason. But they would never need a reason by themselves. I just don't think everything you do requires fate, or reason.

No i dont believe in fate, i believe in God and predestination. Where all our choices that we could possibly make are recorded and eliminated as we choose our path toward our end in life on Earth and begin our second life or death. things do happen for a reason but that reason is God.

Fate, predestination...aren't they pretty much the same thing? That everything happens for a reason, or with prior planning?

I personally don't believe any of it at all. The world's a big place, you know, coincidences DO happen. It's like you're setting all the blame on some abstract idea for something you didn't like. "Oh, I got fired...it must be a sign. WHY ME?!?!?"

Why you? Why not you? You're the person who got yourself fired in the first place, you created this all yourself. All of your actions affect your future. All of those actions that you chose to do.

And when something good happens, we all want to feel special. "You know...fate put us together. We just walked down the street and saw each other! It was definitely a true sign. It was love."

Sure, it could have been love. Was it a sign? No. Was it fate? No, not really. We have brains. We have minds. We control them. I'm sorry to say that no little person is inside of us, controlling our every move.
