yeah i do this too often without realizing something has metal. i had some of those things of butter and they were wrapped in paper that had some kind of metal shiz in it i guess. exploded fireworks all in my microwave.

The microwave + metal thing actually won't do anything if the piece of metal is completely flat / has no high points for the electricity to arc over (or something like that).
