"T. spinipes will attack in swarms when they feel the nest is threatened. They cannot sting, and their bite is not very effective. Their main weapon against predatory animals (including people) is to get themselves entangled in the victim's hair and buzz loudly."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trigona_spinipes

Lol, I bet they cry while they do it, too. I sure wouldn't want to run into a hive of them after I'd spent 10 minutes liberally applying hair gel and styling my do. These pansies aren't tough enough to be in a breast pump commercial without spraining a fallopian tube.

I notice there isn't any non-Latin colloquial name for them in English so maybe they can be called CB bees. Hohoho, I kid, you meatlings.

I hate all bees, hornets, wasps, and any other insect that looks like them. So, it doesn't matter if it can sting or not, but if it looks like a bee Dee is getting the f*ck away from it. I have no idea where the fear came from, but my brother was attacked by a swarm of hornets (after our lovely and caring father RAN THEIR NEST OVER), and he has no fear or any insects. Weird.

I will admit I was slightly amused how Dee rhymed with bee. Anywho, I am with you Dee. If it looks/sounds like a bee I am getting the f*ck out of there.
