^that's what i was thinking too. where are Appa and Momo? i wonder how much of the story they're going to do. it would be so awesome if they did a series of films.

that might actually take away from the visual greatness if it's not done right. they should get George Lucas and his people to help out.

i think it had something to do with not wanting it to get confused to that craptastic Avatar movie.

Isnt Avatar(The last airbender) asianed themed? Where are the asians in this movie? The costumes resemble the dynasty periods of east Asia. I sure hope they are good at acting.

Just because he came out with a movie called "Avatar" doesn't mean he owns the word.
I mean the show is called "Avatar: The Last Airbender" if anything, they should have been able to keep it in their title.

Honestly, I thought "Avatar" WAS a movie about Aang and what not.
Till someone informed me otherwise.

There better be some Appa and Momo!

Movies with the word Avatar in it seem to always have a hidden racial issue.

Idk what to think of that, but I intended to bootleg it so they weren't getting my support money wise anyway....fight the power. lol

i would probably catch this on dvd ('cause i personally believe you can't hate something unless you've actually seen it), but i won't support it in the box office. i am slightly offended that they would preferebly cast caucasians over "other ethnicities". the claim was that the actors were hired based on pure talent and acting ability, but you're telling me they can't find a decent asian aang/zuko/uncle iroh? inuit katara/sokka?

admittedly, at first, i didn't think it was a big deal (even jackson rathbone tried to fit his role for sokka more by hoping for a tan and tying his hair up), but now i feel it's not far off from being just as bad as those old films in which a caucasian actor plays blackfaced or tanned for a role made for "other ethnicities".

and don't even get me started on dev patel as zuko. seriously, even zuko's voice actor (dante basco, starred as rufio in hook) would've made a better zuko.

and wtf is up with that kid's pussface the whole time. aang in the animated version is practically always smiling.

the visual casting in this movie is horrendous, and apparently reviews state that's not even its main problem.

everyone i've talked to about it (all of 2 people) said it was awful. i'll trust their judgement and wait until it comes out on dvd. i'm so disappointed though. i was so excited.
