So I figured it was about time to get rid of the temporary layout I had up and make a new one. It's still sort of a work-in-progress, and a couple of the pages aren't finished yet, but I'm hunting for feedback. Haven't even checked it in IE...kind of afraid of how that will turn out.

It looks really good. I'm not sure about the header font, the edges don't look very clean.

It looks really nice Elia! You just love that Delicious font, don't cha? tongue.gif

Everything looks great to me, but I think you should make all the rollovers and stuff like that smoother, like you had on the last theme. :)

Are you using IE? :\
I'm using an embedded font with a fall back to Lucida Grande/Sans, so they're probably looking awful that big.

Well, YEAH, it's delicious. Goes perfectly with anything. :D

I'm not sure if I'm gonna do anything fancy with this one. Right now it's entirely CSS (only IE uses images for the transparent backgrounds), except for the screen shots. And the only JavaScript is a tiny file running the banner on top.

Naw. I'm using RGBa, which IE doesn't support. RGBa is the coolest thing next to sliced bread and Microsoft won't provide support for it for another 10-20 years.

Weeeeird. Is it showing up as a really nice font with aliased edges, or is it plain old Lucida Grande?

RGBa makes the world go 'round. Funny enough, the W3C's CSS3 validator doesn't even recognize it yet.

I think it's nice, there are a few things I would consider...

The logo isn't clickable, though you have areas around your logo, that seem like they could be. I think the logo should always redirect back to the home page, even if you have a home link. (look at facebook -- it has 3).

The other thing, was for your headings (website names) I think that you should have those slightly less bold, maybe regular, or regular condensed. Right now, they seem slightly too prominent.

on Chrome, the "me" of You inspire me is on a new line and overlaps with the text. but other than that it's awesome

In Firefox 3.5 on Linux (with all Microsoft fonts installed other than Arial Narrow, so font probably isn't the issue), "a gallery of the world's greatest sites" flows over into another line, and the advertise link doesn't show up.

It doesn't really subtract from the design much, but it's definitely worth noting.

Edit:

Found the advertise link, it decided to place itself over the flash thing you have going there.

I think the header font could be thinner, but otherwise I really like it how it is. I'm way too lazy to be brutal on this one.

@ pretty much everyone - I guess it's time to rethink my widths. Switched it to two rows, though now the right side seems a bit lonely. I'll figure something out. The only thing I don't like about Delicious is that it's such a tiny font. I didn't realize how gigantic 48 pixels is in Lucida until I took Delicious off. It's like a monstaa. :|

Turned the title/tag line into a link. It's been bugging me, too, that I couldn't click it. I'm glad someone else pointed that out so I wasn't changing it for only me.

And I tried changing the heading fonts to normal weight...seriously looked horrendous, so I just dropped them down in size a bit. Now the navigation links are bugging me, blending in with the title. Maybe I'll change the resting state color...I dunno.

Thanks everyone

Sites and advertise still overflow into another line.

It's probably Mac's over-softening of fonts.

The Delicious font family is a very soft font to begin with. So many issues with it, but I still love it nonetheless. One of those "addiction" things. That's not a problem, right?
