Anywhere I can improve this and stay under budget?
I'm planning on trying to unlock the Sempron's second core, so a mobo I can do that with is required. CPU/Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDet...st=Combo.254106 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820148163 HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136161 DVD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16827106289 PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817171046 Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811147127 Speakers: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16836110026 Have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and OS (Will be dual booting Windows XP and whatever Linux disk is on top of my pile) I can reuse. Budget is $300 USD after shipping, this comes up to $295 after shipping. |

Also, switched mobo/cpu combo to this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDet...st=Combo.242550 It's like $15 more, and I get a dual core no matter what. I'm going to try unlocking the quad, or at least tri. |

Tom, be honest I might even recommend a 9600 GSO in this case. I know it's NVidia, and I don't normally do that. But the 9600 GSO isn't a terrible card in terms of bang of buck at the price point you're asking. :P

Found an old hard drive, so I have extra money to buy a decent GPU instead of using the HD2400 I had in a box.
I'm thinking this will be my final build. Mobo/CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDet...st=Combo.242550 Case/PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDet...st=Combo.242636 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820148163 DVD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16827136167 GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814102843 Any objections? |

I know, but I can deal with an ugly case if it means I get it and a PSU for $99.99 off.

I would honestly recommend a 9600 GSO in this case. :P
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...1-320-_-Product Not that your build isn't good, but NVidia actually owns the bang for buck at this price point with the GSO. The 9600 GSO will beat out the 4670 in many cases. The only real advantage the 4650 has over the 9600 GSO is the size of form factor and power consumption. |

Yeah, I looked up some benchmarks earlier today, and they made up my mind (along with the case/psu combo coming with a 600w). Getting a 9600 GSO for this. Also found a similar case/PSU combo with a much less ugly case.
