I like smaller layouts, I guess.
I just didnt want there to be all that white for the content area.

Yeah, I think the scan lines are a little too much for the eyes. The contrast between the red and black are a little too much (and the scan lines are packed closely together making it "flashy).

Although I do see an improvement there. =] You should still fix the legs as suggested by elletricity in that other topic.

BTW speaking of topics, since this was just an updated version of the layout... I think it's not so necessary to make two topics just for this.

How come you keep making new topics, when you're only making minor changes to the layouts? This one, like the others, and as others have said, are ridiculously plain. Not sure if you're grasping the advice properly, or just not paying attention. All of the layouts you've made, at least the 5 recent ones, have been pretty much the same. One main column with a large image on top, followed by 3:1 columns. It's very boring, and amateur. Maybe you need to put more thought into your designs, and how they'll all come together before you start designing them. Right now, this one looks like a train wreck, cause it'll end up looking just like the other 4. With two columns of text for the navigation area and the blog. I'm just not seeing anything different, nor fresh with each of these revisions you keep making to the same layouts. Might I suggest, before you design, think. Look at thousands of other templates, graphics, etc. before you make something of your own. Also, it may not do any harm if you read maybe 3 guides/tutorials to making a full layout in photoshop.

The background isn't very appealing, but I agree that maybe a some dark gray stripes would look better or a texture would make the background a lot better. I think the banner is actually quite nice and the image quality looks great. I actually don't mind the text and brush but I think the layout should definitely be wider. If you don't want to much white, just make a new banner that's similar to this but just wider. Also, you should use black and pink for the content area text and stuff. But it does look better than the first.

I like this one better. But the blending bugs me a bit because of the different lighting/coloring between the two images.
