So I lost my graphing calculator during the last school year, and I haven't had it for several months. Since they're a bit expensive, I was too nervous to tell my mum about it for obvious reasons.
Last year I was able to use the school's calculators that were provided, but this coming year they won't be providing them since I'm taking AP Stat.

So I'm pretty much f*cked now. How should I tell her I need another one without her getting pissed? I'm ok with lying, but I need some good ones.

How bout you tell her. It has been at least a year so she will feel that you got a good use of it. If you had told her one week after you got it she may have flipped.

Agreed.

You could also say that a finnish ninja somehow broke into your room and performed several mind damaging techniques on you causing you to pass out and while you passed out, the ninja used her/his ninja skills to swipe your calculator just in time before you woke up again. shrug.gif That, or tell the truth.

Tell her about it and see if she'll get you a new one; if not, get a job and buy your own.

Cohoe, a year out of a $150 dollar graphing calculator hardly seems like "a good use."

Anywhore, just fess up. S'not that bad.

There are worse things that could happen. Yeah she'll probably yell at you for a bit but hey, you did lose something of significant value...so nut up and tell the truth.

Telling the truth seems alright. But say it was stolen, it's better than it being "lost"
&you can look it up on ebay for a cheaper one?

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. She'll be more sympathetic if I tell her it was stolen, though she might all "SRSLY WHO DA FUQ DID THIS? I'MA CALL THE SCHOOL."
That would suck.

Just buy a used one off of ebay or something. It's not that difficult.
