What are/were the pros and cons of being a teenager?

Though I by no means intend to promote anorexia, I think the biggest pro to being a teenager was weighing in at 95lbs. This weight was not intentional, as I would normally eat my weight in pasta. Then came beer. I now weigh in between 120 and 125. Though proportionate, I’d like again to be all Lolita and crap. I’d totally be one of those Suicide Girls, and wish I had been when I had the chance.

Everything else about being a teenager, for me, was a con. School or friends weren’t a problem for me, but, I hafta say, the things I wore, the things I fought for are well, embarrassing. The adult Mandi would definitely not be friends with the teenage Mandi, the freakin’ poser.

Teenagers are weird. They’re not children, but they’re not adults either. Like the sporks of society. I'm undecided if I wish to be a teen again.

while these weren't problems for me i think the cons of being a teenager are definitely the rules parents and other authority figures set, curfew, school (the learning part), and how cruel other teenagers can be. pros: being care free, not having to pay for school. those are the only 2 i can think of right now. i loved being a teenager. those were my best years because everything was easy and fun. staying up all night talking on the phone, going to the mall with friends, everyone pretty much had the same schedule so it was easy to plan get togethers. those were the days.

Parents were never a problem for me. Even as a private school student, taking me two and from the punk rock shows in my mini leopard print skirt and shaved pink hair. Though I was probably physically stupid looking, I never wanted to get into trouble, and I think my parents knew this, at least. I was fortunate.

I think I am happier paying for my own home/apartment/thing.

me too. i still don't like getting in trouble. although it's more like disappointing than actually getting in trouble now.

well, im still a teenager. and pros are my parents still pay for me, i dont have to work. all the school and teenage drama can be annoying, but that's also what makes you feel alive, sometimes.

i don't know, i'd hardly rate my teen years as normal.
i guess cons were living on the streets for a couple of years, dropping out of school, uhm, feeling all awkward with my body.

pros- meeting my fiance in the early years of highschool. learning how to get along on my own.

Because it's not a spelling mistake; it's the wrong kind of "to."

You know what, I don't mind being a teenager, but I can't say I'm not excited for growing up.

I'm working two jobs right now and the stress they lay on me is entirely too palpable. I wish I didn't have to take on any responsibility, but I know starting early teaches me to appreciate what I have.

But yeah, the teenage years are ace. I loff the danger.
