i LOVE scary movies haha. but i get scared super easily too, so when i'm watching them, sometimes i'll just focus on just one spot on the tv so it looks like i'm watching but i'm not really haha. that sounds completely ridiculous, but it helps because you're not directly looking at the screen.

but if you really need this date to go well, ask her what scary movie she wants to watch, then you should rent it and watch it ahead of time by yourself so you'll know where the scary parts are. that way, on your real date, you'll look super cool by not looking scared lol =) this strategy won't work well if it's a movie in theaters.

Good idea! Ill just look at the corner! And even though I dont usually do this kind of thing I could download a movie even if its in theatres to watch it. And we have to watch a movie in theatres cause her dad doesnt even approve of her going on dates so technically she is seeing a movie with her girlfriend...

If one is at the movies with one's date, proceed to buy a extra large bucket of popcorn and place it on his lap during the movie. Cut a hole in the bottom of the bucket, and proceed to stick your bare penis in the hole (preferably bonered). When your date reaches in to grab popcorn, she will be delighted.

i like Teesa's idea. it could work in the theater too. i look away when really gross stuff happens. pretend you got a text or something. but if scary movies really bother you and you don't think you're gonna be able to handle it just don't see a scary movie. if she's mad she'll get over it. it's just a movie.

But a scary movie will be her excuse to just in my lap and cuddle with me which I know she will, since it's just a first date and I dont believe in kissing on the first date.
But I think either the second or third date should be a romantic movie so I can hopefully bust a movie at the right moment.

gauge your eyes out. the movie will hardly be scary at all if you can only hear and not see.

seriously though, don't go if you're not going to enjoy it. maybe you guys can compromise and find a happy medium.

So maybe ill just bring headphones and put it in the ear of the side she isnt on and put my head against her shoulder. haha. Or I could just man up and watch it! laugh.gif

But I probably will look to the corner or make my eyes out of focus when I get scared.

Just stare at her the whole time and forget about the movie. Tell her shes distracting. She will feel special, and you wont have to watch the movie. win & win

I thought about it but I figured she would feel awkward. haha. I'm not on of those poem writing romantic type guys. although be romantic is great being gay isnt.

But i mean we could just sit in the back and talk. Cause I would rather sit and talk then watch a movie.

me too! i always cover my ears when i watch one because those false alarm scares or whatever due to the creepy music is scary.

lol the reason i said the theater would be harder is because the screen is soo big so no matter where you look, you're going to get a good glimpse of whatever's going on. but i think looking toward the bottom of the screen is better than the corners. taking your eyes out of focus is a good trick too.

btw, do you know what movie it's going to be?

Idk, she just said she wanted to see a scary one. So Im guessing she will want to see orphan which looks like the freaking scariest movie ever and im gonna piss my pants the whole time we watch it if she wants to watch it! But dont you have to be 17 to watch an R? So maybe all our problems are solved! Since we are under the age limit we will have to see a pg-13! And even if it is still a horror film a pg-13 one wont be as bad.

ooh i want to see that one. they always make movies more scary with little children lol. it kinda looks like the omen movie, except they used a girl. but anyways, if it is rated R then you're fine! haha, i don't know of other scary movies that are out right now though.

Dude, I LOVE scary movies. The gorier the better. I love campy horror(think Evil Dead series). You have to look past the "scary" and enjoy the silliness of it.

My suggestion is to rent as many "scary" movies as possible and have yourself a marathon. Hopefully you'll evolve from scary movie pussy to scary movie master.

that's the key: keep telling yourself it's not real. make fun of it. scary movies don't scare, they startle me. some may even creep me out, like Amityville Horror, the recent one. don't watch that one. i don't do the true story/ demon movies.

^aw. my parents used to tell me that there are video cameras and producers and directors everywhere so everything is fine lol. but it's a lot harder to think about that kind of stuff during the movie.

ohh it also helps to watch something fun or funny right afterward to get your mind off of it. and if it's a dvd, it's nice to watch the behind the scenes extra stuff so you can see how they made it scary. it helps :)

and rebs, i haven't seen any of the evil dead movies. are they any good? i'm more into the psychological+gore scares like the first saw movie (the rest are soo garbage).

^i agree about the Saw movies. i stopped after 2. that scene where the drug dealer pushed that one chick in the whole with all the glass syringes grossed me out and made me mad at the same time. you know they're making up to 9 movies that will be released every year on halloween?

Teesa, I think that they're great. It's Sam Raimi, pre Spiderman. They are among the most funny and ridiculous movies I've ever had the pleasure of watching over and over again. I really recommend them, not because they're brilliantly made, but because Raimi allows the audience to have absolutely decadent pleasure in watching the films.

They're not at all psych/gore though, so I can't guarantee that you'll have the same sentiment.

On the subject of psych/gore/thriller, I strongly recommend Wait Until Dark, with Audrey Hepburn. It is a classic.

I KNOW, that scene is crazy and just makes you wince. that's a good movie to stop at though. the third one was okay, but the fourth one had like no clear plot that i could follow and i didn't even watch the fifth one. 9? ridiculous. they just know people will still watch it even though they are so silly now. they've lost any interesting plot lines that they used to have and now are thinking only of how sick and bloody they can make them.

It's been a long time, but that's not how I remember it. The story is based on a doll being stuffed with drugs, and these thugs are trying to get to it. Hepburn's blind character inadvertently winds up with the doll in her apartment.

so im in a predicament...I wanna see a scary movie so we can be close, but I was gonna ask her out on the first movie. And It would be weird to do that in a scary movie. And then for the second movie we could watch something romantic, and the rest is history...so im not sure which way round I should do it.

go with her choice first, SCARY
and insteand of romantic, try teen Comedy or some fantany fiction crap,
horror and comedy have a good twist, but horror and romance..ehh you're thinking about a shortcut which will end all your hopes and dreams! MUAHAHHAHHAHa -_-

stick to horror, your a man, you can handle it! sum good ideas/excuses:
-drink all the soda, "shit, all out, i'ma get some more"
-alternative to above: pee break
-sit next to an annoying family with loud children, they'll keep your mind off
the scary parts in the movie
-IF YOU HAVE TO SCREAM: chuckle and start laughing RIGHT AFTER before your girl grabs her little pink purse. (girlly scream prefered cuz than it'll be like you WERE FAKING THE SCREAM) (seen this work only 2 times)
-hungry: ask the lady if she wants to snack, yes no, either way, you make an excuse and run when you sense a scary part coming.
-Touching: don't even try if you know you're gonna shake or jult even a little. its gonna be hard explaining why you slaped her "by mistake".
-Theater sound is always scary, haven't tried this: wear jacket with hoodie up and bring an ipod

-Touching: don't even try if you know you're gonna shake or jult even a little. its gonna be hard explaining why you slaped her "by mistake".
-Theater sound is always scary, haven't tried this: wear jacket with hoodie up and bring an ipod

Very useful! I normally always pee before I go to the movie, but if I get to leave the theater at least twice during the movie I dont think it will be scary. And good idea about the touching. But odds are, if she grabs my hand ill be thinking more about, her then the movie.

i bet they do. it seems so unfair for the parents to just do what they please with all their children's money. i would definitely save the money for my child to spend when he/she is more responsible and put away enough for a pretty hefty college fund.

O, she gets back from idaho august 5th. The wait is killing me.
But the whole "first date" thing isnt as big of a deal at my age. We both like each other and she will probably be more nervous then me.
