Ok, so I was also thinking of new site layout ideas so I came up with this. I'm quite proud of it but it looks like a few adjustments could be made, I just don't know what.

Anything I should probably add or adjust? C&C would be cool too.

i like the colors. i don't like the rounded corners though. also i don't really like the text positioning, the title and the content area feels too close to the edges of that box or something to me.

I'm actually liking this sort of sleeky feel you're getting here. The wood compliments nicely, although I think it'd look better if it was a tad bit darker, like lower the opacity on the wood against the dark grey background. Hm, maybe lose the outerglow on Mikeplyts.net as well, and maybe lessen the font size below it. This is a pretty decent layout overall.

The only thing i have to say is i think the fonts should be smaller, more slick, like the layout, but i really like this!

Edit; I don't know if it would look good at all, lol but i keep thinking that the font color should be a bluish grey, but i dont know that one is up to you.

Ok, how about I adjusted the levels of the wood? What outer glow, you mean the dropshadow? I'll see how that looks. Thanks.




Oh, and a question, is Myriad Pro like a common font on most computers? I would like to use it as the main font on the layout but you know, I don't know if it's really a default font. If not, are there any default fonts that are similar to Myriad Pro?

I don't know, I don't really what most of the layout blue though. I basically want my main colors to be blue, black, and gray-ish.

Yeah I think the content's too close to the edges. But everything looks great! :D

This looks super awesome :D Just one thing, I think the links are too close to the edge, esp. with the gradient dividers as they are. I'd center them and remove the bullet points.

I thonk you should add a glow, or centered drop shadow around every container because to me it looks like they are floating but with a shadow it would really make it look like the wood is behind which I like.

I really like the navigation column. Are you going to have to have them expand or something...?

As for everything else, it looks good, but everything doesn't really flow together for me. I think it's the "Featured Project" thing that's throwing me off.

Eh, I think it's really boring, to be honest... All of the text should be smaller (except maybe not in the header) and the sidebar nav background images also should reflect the smaller change. I also think the rounded corners are waayy too large.

Also, the header needs more. Too plain.

PS: make a proper footer this time! You'll be pleasantly surprised at what it adds to the design.

Everything seems humongous to me, but I like the colors and the wood background.
