err.. well I thought it would be fun to try to make a coffee cup.. cuz I like coffee :3



It looks so weird to me.. the different vector shapes are so .. weird ?!

I used this image

It also has those strange shapes.. but it's not as noticeable there I guess.. mellow.gif

When I use images that have weird lighting do I just make up my own shapes ?

edit:

I'm talking about the pointy things near the mouth of the cup that hand down. and that weird picture frame shape..

and the cup looks pregnant on the left side sad.gif It looks the same way on the flickr one...... rawr.. I'm going to have to abort that baby. It's making it look bad.

Woah this looks pretty trippy. Honestly I don't think it looks that bad. Just the left (our left) side of the cup looks pixelated. And the lighting does look weird. Before looking at the original I thought it was coffee coming down the cup. mellow.gif But I like the overall effect. :)

I think it looks pretty cool, Wes! Yeah, maybe make the left side a little more smoother and there also seems to be some shapes that look like it has some noise applied to them which kinda makes it look weird. Otherwise, great job! thumbsup.gif

I think it looks great. The only problem is that some of the edges are a bit choppy. The left side is the most noticeable, but the top and little chunks of the right side are, too.

And you used one of my textures, which I never see used by anyone but myself. cry.gif

I think the second version looks better than the first. The lighting still looks a little odd, I guess. (But looking at the original photo, it looks weird there, too.) I really like the color combination that you chose, and the textures. It does look more like a painting than a vector, though. :)

OK, thank you happy.gif I'm going to go find another cup that has better lighting and just put it on this one.

EDIT:

OK, let's compare.




^I got a real coffee cup and put it under a light source at the same angle. It didn't have a single one of those weird spike things.

really? :-/ I will most likely add them back.. but make them look better :3 but as for now, I haz spoon!!



ugh -.- It looks so good in the GIMP window, but when I upload it, I see so many mistakes and things i want to change D:

I'm pretty dang proud of myself. I'm horrible at making this stuff.. but I think I did purdy darn guud on this'un. It's not exactly a vector, but I think it looks really good biggrin.gif :D

I liked the first one better also. It looks less..blurry for some reason. Great job though. Looks nice.
