probably a stupid question, but how do you use your ipod touch for the first time?

i updated itunes and plugged my ipod into the usb like the manual said, but nothing's happening. itunes isn't recognizing it and there's no icon that's showing up on the ipod's screen. i'm guessing it's probably because it needs to charge first? how long does a brand new ipod need to charge before it... responds?

:(

eh, i don't think it not being charged enough kept it from connecting the first time for me. i don't really remember. but you might as well attempt charging it first before moving on to other reasons it might not be recognizing it.

You should really learn to ignore people. You seem kinda tense. Like me right now. If you reply to this you it will just make you look even worse.

i absolutely love my itouch. i knew i would never get an iphone, &i didn't really care about its cost, so i bought one.
i don't think i had any problem with my itunes recognizing my itouch. try unplugging & plugging it back in. until you hear that "dun nun" sound, hehe.
&i guess you could try charging it, if it still refuses to work.

^ Seriously, just stfu. Please.

I think the manual usually says how long it needs to be charged for... but I don't know. If it still doesn't seem to be working, I think you should call customer service or bring it back to where you bought it from.

lol actually i paid for it myself cuz i got a full time job and everything, thanks :)

anyways, apparently the thing was faulty. took it to the apple store and swapped it for another one.

and thanks, jcp, but tbh i think being around cb since '04 has solidified my rep enough to the point where whether i reply to your post or not doesn't really change how most people view me imo. :)

Wow. You know, I actually thought you were a pretty good guy before and didn't understand why everyone gave you so much shit... but wow. It's just so incredibly annoying how you are so quick to jump to the conclusion that everyone else on this forum (but not you; oh god of course not you) is a spoiled little bitch.

Alright you guys, lets try to help the lady out and not try to kill each other in the process.

My brother's ipod touch took about a day before it even turned on although now that im looking through certain sites:

Its supposed to come somewhat charged already.
