This month has been a real kicker for ATI. They've dropped their prices a hell of a lot. Just this month a 4850 has gone from $160.00 to below 90.00 when teamed with various rebates available from manufactures. Incredible.

Also the 4850 X2 is just ridiculous in terms of price/performance this month. The 4850 X2, a card that beats the GeForce 280 (in most cases) is now more than $50.00 less.

Incredible... it's never been so inexpensive to purchase a card this good. Prices like this are the main reason I don't understand why anyone would purchase a 295 or 4870 X2. It makes no sense.

Can you show us some benchmarks of the 4850 in crossfire vs GTX285.

I think you mean that the 4850x2 is a little better than the gtx280... not 285. Not even the 4890s can touch the gtx275s lol

I feel like I'm bending over and letting you kick me in the ass right now, however you are correct! I did mean the 280. The 285 is clearly a much faster card. None the less, it is still an awesome month for ATI!!! WooooHHoooo!!! The 4850 X2 is a single card with teamed 4850 GPUs. It's not a crossfire configuration.

I'm hoping ATI comes out with a 4890 X2 just to knock the socks off the 295. I'd really like to see keep-the-fire and six cry a river because they don't have the most badass equipment on the market anymore. The sooner the better. :)

I hear that.

I personally have always had problems with ATI... I dunno why. So I pretty much refuse to use it.

Not only that but ATI is a pain in the butt when using Linux =\

But ya would be amazing to see 4890x2 nonetheless.

I got the 4850 a week before this deal, however, I payed 200. But it was a visiontek brand. and it's been suprisingly well to me.
