New Unfinshed Layouts., 3 Layouts. Options

I have 3 new UNFINISHED layouts that I'd like to get C&C on.
My favorite is #2, I thought it came out really well. Although, #3 took a little bit longer to make.

1) Colors don't match. But the idea's nice.
2) Pretty and simple. I like.
3) I like the style. Just not sure about the drop shadow/stroke on the tabs because it interferes with the background. And "Links Out" looks weird since it's not aligned with "About" and "Home"


Overall there are an improvement, really. Very nice.

I don't really like the fonts on any of them. You need to pick your fonts and colors better.
I don't really like your headers either - they don't really fit the layout to me


1) Hate, Hate, HATE the 'forever angle' text.
2) It kinda looks too plain tbh
3) Hate the tabs - they stick out too much and they seem too random imo.

1) I agree, the colors don't match up well but the concept is good. I think if you matched up the colors and adjusted the font for the title then it would look a lot better.
2) Honestly, it's way too plain and really wide. It doesn't have any "oopmh" to it and it looks really basic esp. with the pink and white.
3) I think this one is the best of all three but I think that the tabs really stick out too much, as mentioned before. The brush also bothers me because for some reason, it looks way too huge and doesn't really blend in but whatever, that's just me.

Overall, they're okay but not really something that would attract more visitors.

I'll work on the first and third layout and see what I can do to give the second one some omph.

I still don't know what to do about the second one but I've updated the screenshots.

Christy, I don't understand where the brush in the first one is pixelated. On my computer it's not pixelated if you go to the preview. I'll work on the font & colors.

In the second one, are you saying don't feather it or don't feather it so much? I don't know what else I should incorporate. Like another brush or something? I have no idea.

On the third one, that's the same brush I used before and everyone else likes it and I don't see what's wrong with it. I'll remove the blend and put a solid background.


I am incorporating things I've learned from this tutorial but I still can get it to work well. If I could, I'd use that exact layout but with different colors and different brushes but then it wouldn't be my OWN layout. I'll re-read the tutorial and see what I can do with some more layouts.

the second one, you really shouldn't feather it, some people can make it work but in your case , it doesn't really work cuz you dont add much elements in to it.

once again, please please PLEASE consider color palettes if you're considering using just brushes & backgrounds w/ no other elements like textures, blends and what not.


try more than 1 tutorial, add things from maybe three tutorials and put them together, although not too much. get me? :]

Content attracts visitors not the layout.
There are many sites I go to that have crappy layouts, or no layout at all but I still go to them because they have content I want, that I can't find anywhere else.
