well...is there a pixalate option? If there is copy a picture of that. Pixalate one and just lay the pixalate on top of the original and change the opacity of it

You could also try using some brushes. It may sound wierd, but hey, it's possible. Just have to mess with opacity and stuff. I think there are GIMP functions right? Try seeing if there's a GIMP function for pixelating a picture. I think deviantART might be helpful for that task. thumbsup.gif

What do you mean by a pixalate option?
So you are saying, Open it in GIMP, create a new layer, pixalate that layer, then change the opacity of the new layer, right?

Okay, I'll look at deviantART.
What are GIMP functions?

Blur>pixelize
And the higher you set the number the fewer colrs there will be. Like 10 will have chunks of one color that are 10x10 pixels. Just play with it. And if you only want to pixelize parts then you can select parts using whatever method you want then pixelizing it. I would suggest feathuring the selection before pixelizing it though.

Select>feather.
The higher, the more gradual the edges will be.

Okay.

What does feathering an image actually do?

It kind gives a blurry, soft look to an object and usually just does that to the object's edges.

no, not the image. The selection.

It will make the selection blurry. If you set it to 5 it will make 5 pixels closest to the edge blurry.
