have you ever had anger problems or known someone with anger problems? what did you do about it/them?

most of your answers suck so far. maybe i should reword it. if you have anger issues and you get mad, what do you do to control that? and if you don't have them yourself but you know someone who does, what are some ways to help them control/fix their anger problems other than just ditch them?

I suppressed my anger and over time, it seems to have gone away.

I have a friend.. well ex-friend who changes to some complete sick, twisted, f*ck, when he gets drunk. There's no hope for him.. he's already damaged his wife's knee from literally body slamming her onto the front lawn, and he's lost a few friends from being a complete ***hole and actually swinging on them.

Only way is to figure out what gives them anger / rage and see if it's possible to stop them from it. If it's alcohol, you can only tell them so many times until you finally just give up.

I bet he threw a party afterward.

You did him a favor, cause you probably deserved it.

Pro father. I commend him, you probably deserved it. Your sister probably deserved it almost as much as you, assuming she's half as ugly or more.

oh that's simple... meditation.

I used to have anger problems (doctor said it was because I was flooded with testosterone, more so than a typical male at the age of 15) but meditation did the trick cool.gif

It's quite simple... to be angry you must have thoughts that cause that anger. Make your mind change your thoughts, anger vanquished. Taaaadaaaaa.

that's true... why didn't i think of that xD
every 2-3 days or so i go to tai chi and yoga, which really clears my mind and allows me to focus on the positive aspects of life rather than the negative.

when i am really angry at my fiance, i draw a bath with green tea bath salts. it is really soothing. i usually come out of the bath feeling at ease.

Chakra:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chakra

But to get focus.. you recognize focus, you should start off with sun, or mirror, or candle light gazing. Which is focusing your eyes on a specific spot (on your face, typically the tip of your nose if you're mirror gazing), until everything outside of that spot becomes a blur... then stay focused, don't judge what you see in your mind nor eyes, but let it continue.

Just be careful with mirror gazing as you might see somethings that might freak you out and don't worry about chanting or anything.. mirror gazing is for self recognition.

If you start scrying, you have two options.. either continue or stop.. because it can become really scary, if you see evil faces, it's because you're impure, and each face represents a part of you. If you see angelic / beautiful faces, then you're more pure than impure. But the evil faces are a total mind f*ck and can scare people into staying away from meditation because they judged it and couldn't face it.

Sun gazing is gazing or focusing your vision on a sunrise or sunset (during these periods the sun isn't as bright). Also if you sungaze, make sure you are at a park or somewhere in the wilderness where you won't be disturbed, even the beach. Make sure to be bare footed as well so that you are the connection between the Earth and the sun... you'll feel the energy streaming through you.

Candle light gazing is simple staring at the dead center of the fire, where the wick of the candle ends.

Once you're able to gaze without a problem or simply focusing, you're now able to do closed eyes (while the eyes are focused) meditation, which has a lot of visualization. The point of Chakra is to get all the Chakras to light up bright and spin. It'll be hard at first but after a few attempts (it took me 5-6 times to finally get my Chakras visible), you should be able to see a large spot in your vision (this is the mind's eye, the third eye that's seeing this), which will gradually and slowly start to spin the longer you're able to focus on it... once that Chakra starts spinning at a consitent rate, you start working your way up the Chakra chart.. until you meet the crown Chakra.

When you have all the Chakras bright and spinning simutaneously, you'll start to feel energy, tingling sensations, and it'll become a bit more difficult to concentrate as your mind will try to understand or figure out why you're feeling these things, but you must try to ignore it and continue...

You should start off with 20 minutes first until you can get at least one of your Chakras to appear (I went with the Crown Chakra first for my first time), once you're able to focus this well, you should be able to meditate even longer, in hopes to get a 2nd Chakra to appear simutaneously. Then so on...

After you're done... you might get headaches. I myself haven't received headaches from my first time getting into meditation. Once you start getting into the groove of things, you'll start to feel completely energized, more than likely tingling sensation all over your face, scalp, and throat. And you should feel a bit of pressure under your skull, which is a good thing.

Yep. I've been meditating since I was 17 years old.

Here (semi off topic): http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4951448613711060908

Pretty interesting stuff cool.gif

You'll love what your mind will produce when you meditate, seriously.

Idk if it counts, but I have a terrible anger problem. It can be something so minimal and I just get crazy. But I never ever hit anyone, I just sleep it off or do lots of venting and screaming. Or I slam stuff. Music + grand theft auto helps too.

Anyone ever watched True Life where they told the chick to put glass bottles in a bag and break it with a hammer to relieve her anger? I would like to try that.
