well i need to download and burn an iso but i currently dont have a linux computer with a cd burner so im going to do everything from the live cd. i just wanted to know if it sounds like a bad idea. i already know that even the live cd is fast. im gonna download opera and then download the iso torrent. im doin it in linux so i dont get a virus. can a virus get into windows still? o and is their an iso burning tool in ubuntu?if not what should i use.

I've done it before. It's not a great idea, but it doesn't hurt to do it.
Anyway, I think Ubuntu comes with Brasero. If not, download it. |

Can I also avoid getting a virus by downloading the risky iso in a virtual machine running linux?

use magic iso. i download torrents all the time and i use utorrents to download them and if need be, i use magic iso to extract them. you can also use magic iso to make CD's for the torrents as well. check out the website.

just read the comments on the torrents. I've never gotten a virus from any torrent. What are you trying to download anyways.
