I made another vector and this one took about three hours.
I think it turned out great.

More info on the DA page.
How can I improve?

Wow this is really good. I wish I could make it bigger though so I can see it better. Her skin color looks a bit weird, imo. But everything else looks pretty good. Good job. flowers.gif

Yeah like her face looks darker than her legs.

O my?! I could have sworn I used the same color. O well.
Edit. I just checked and acually the colors are identical!?
Maybe I should still make the top part lighter anyway.

It's pretty good. I agree with Nat about the skin color, though. And you may want to add some detail to the dress since it looks flat compared to everything else.

By the way, it's not a vector anymore if you used raster layers. Just saying.

It's ok. The skin color is really off though. I don't like the eyes either.

Yeah, I agree. The skin is alright but it still looks nice! It's just always the shadows that you use that kind of take away from the vector. Just try using shapes to make the shadows. Otherwise, good job! thumbsup.gif

EDIT: Oh, and some of the shadows look choppy/jaggedy. mellow.gif

Whats that mean? And technically its not a vector cause its not a svg file.
And how should I add more detail to the dress? Just add more shapes with different shades of black or try and add some like shiny streaks?

O i see what you mean. Cause I used a feathered brush not a shape.

How did the dress look like in the original picture? Was it just black and plain?

I'm not referring to how it's saved. If you're not using vector tools and layers (like for your shadows), it's not a vector anymore. Just thought I'd point it out. shrug.gif

And for the dress, you want to start off with really dark greys when you use black so you can add shadows. If you look at your base image, it's mostly grey with little areas of black.

What an improvement, Joseph!

Just a few notes. The skin should have more of an alabaster undertone rather than a flat pink/tan. Most Caucasian's are olive toned or yellow/pink. Since she's a torch, I'd go with the latter.

Also, the shadows on her legs are jaggedy like Mike pointed out. You should use your shapes rather than whatever you used (brush?) to make them smooth and even like the rest of your image. :)

Ok so right now I need to make the shadows, shapes instead of a brush and I need to make the skin lighter and I need to add something to the dress.

Is that it?
