Thomas left CB and only lurks, so that's why he doesn't post.

I haven't watched the Star Trek movies in their entirety, so I'm not sure if I'd watch this one.

I thought that there was a topic for this (maybe it was a different forum, or folks were talking about it in the Heroes thread, since Sylar is Spock).

I'm budget tight, so I'll probably wait to NetFlix it, but I'll definitely watch the movie somehow. I'm not sure how 'hardcore' fans will react, since they are either unhealthily attached or will watch and love anything related to the franchise. I've seen all the other franchise related movies. Most are good, with "The Wrath of Khan" being my favorite. It's just so much campy fun.

As an aside, I know A LOT of people who have watched Star Trek but not Star Wars (and vice versa). It sometimes feels like the Rolling Stones VS The Beatles thing, where some people don't listen to one because of loyalty to the other. People are weird sometimes. haha

I'm all for the old school star trek. Kirk, william s back in his prime. I used to watch them all the time when i was younger. The new movie looks disappointing, but i'm sure it's entertaining. I understand their decision on trying to target the younger audience. If someone else buys my freakin 10 dollar ticket, then i'll go

SO f*ckING GOOD.

It's awesome that I understood everything without having to be a Trekkie fan, because I was worried about being confused. It had the perfect amount of excitement (I mean, wtf at that half insect, half dinosaur thing?!) And damn, that frequencies line... genius.

I love Spock.

Spock is also f*cking hot.

It took me a second time of seeing it to notice this.
